Tour de France weekend

Pros: see above
Cons: handy corkscrew to open the wine at evening dinner!
Location: good base for cycling, walking activities
great hospitality. very welcoming hosts ,great service, hearty breakfasts, enjoyable 'craic' and banter, very homely staff, tasty beers, great value for money- will return with our bikes next time and bring, again, good weather with us.

The Fountain is an excellent base to explore the fly fishing in the Dales. We were greeted by friendly staff and looked after as if we were at home . We will return

Nice Hotel. Close to stunning country side

Pros: All of the above.
Cons: Not sure how but noise reduction in rooms for guests
Location: To much to say. Pendle hills. Views. Lovely towns. Friendly people of Lancashire.
Would have given 5 star. Staff 5 star, really friendly. Room 5 star, spotless, modern and comfortable. Service 5 star. Reason for only 4 star was because of noise from bar through floor and walls.

Great pub stay! We stayed 2 nights and were allocated room 7 which covers most of the attic space (you need to duck in places) with a double bed and two singles, one in a separate section, plus a kitchenette and sitting area even though there was just myself and my wife. There is a restaurant but we ate in the bar (same food) which was excellent with pub staples and some more refined dished. Had one of, if not the best steak and ale pie meals I have ever had and I order this dish a lot. Other dished we tried were equally good and breakfast (included) was good too. Also had a range of well kept real ales so for me this place was heaven. Free parking is available in a car park just across the street and it's a good base to explore North Yorkshire from even tough it is technically now in Lancashire. Staff were friendly and helpful so can't fault this pub.

Lovely room and friendly staff

The room we stayed in was very well presented and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed on a Friday night, so there was a bit of noise from the bar below, but as we were going out it wasn't a problem.Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for two nights for business. Very friendly staff and a great locals pub. Great food followed by a lovely nights sleep in the spacious rooms. Finished to a very high standard. I'll be back!!
