Hotel Vila Gale is in a great spot overlooking the ocean, there are beautiful scenic spots everywhere you go.
The hotel offers good value, the rooms are reasonably priced and the various services are all priced very fairly.
However there are plenty of areas that could be improved, they have expensive and high end TV sets in every room but the distribution is low grade, it's a shame since they would have spent a lot on getting good TV but all you get is low res SD inputs.
The pool overlooks the ocean but in a spot where you don't get any sun for most parts, it gets quite chilly to just lounge around.
The wifi also cost extra to be in the rooms and the coverage could be a lot better.
Overall, worth the money but they could do a lot better with what they have got, the ocean view really is quite breathtaking

We enjoyed our stay here for the World Cup. Staff was very helpful and the location is great. Actually wished we spent more time here because of the proximity to the beach and the FIFA Fanfest. Lots of good people watching.

My 17 year old son and I stayed at the Casa for 3 days during our World Cup Adventure. It was an excellent exprience. The owner is very pleasant and knowledgable and an excellent host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We felt connected to the Brazilian locals, yet separated enough to have all the comforts of North America.

The website is misleading in that I thought our room had a kitchenette and balcony to beach. The room we did have was pleasant enough, but for over $300/night not the same. Our taxi driver ended up kicking us out of the taxi in a supermarket parking lot and telling us to walk around to find it!

The first European explorers to reach Salvador settled in what is now Barra. The 16th century Farol da Barro fort offers an ideal spot to watch the sunset over All Saints Bay. The streets along Barra's beaches host a range of restaurants and shops to explore, and Porto da Barra beach is popular as a weekend getaway for both tourists and locals alike.
