“a comfortable and affordable place to stay”

I liked this hotel enough to go back. It's only about 2 years old, bedding and pillows like that of a much more expensive hotel, the pool was refreshing, there's limited outdoor seating, breakfast was adequate but nothing to rave about, and parking is easy and quite convenient (with no fee for parking.) Great variety of herbal teas available all day (as well as coffee.) My only complaint is that I requested a quiet room, NOT near a vending machine or elevator, but that's where my room was. Had I not been so tired, I would've requested another room. It all worked out, as it was peaceful enough.

Area recommendations

If you like green juices and fresh made smoothies and juicer drinks (& a variety of delicious pita sandwiches) go to Extreme Pita. The hotel recommended a Thai restaurant in the same plaza as the pita place, but the food was very mediocre.

“Good choice on the way to Algonquin Provincial Park and good value”

Special offer by Expedia made this a good value. Location on the way to vacation at Allgonquin Park was convenient

Dining

Two nights we went to Herb & Sage restaurant which had very good food and service. A small place specializing in fresh ingredients and original entrees. We also went to Urban Dish which had excellent food...but...they had booked a big group (40th birthday) which took up most of the dining room. There was much drinking and very loud conversations and roaming around. We had reservations for 7:30 and the party started shortly before 8. They should not have booked a table for two in this environment as we could not even hear across the table. IF you go, make sure they do not have the dining room booked for a large group!

“Convenient and quiet location”

This hotel is right off the highway in a quiet location. The rooms were quite lovely. It would have only been a bit better if there was a small refrigerator. The continental breakfast was a bit disappointing in that some of the food was not warmed enough and the person refilling the food was overwhelmed by the crowds.

This hotel was a quick 3 minute drive to Lake Simcoe.
