expedia provides clients with a special requests box so thinking someone actually read these i asked that if possible i be given a room towards the end of a hallway away from elevators.well i was given a room facing the elevators.being a passive canadian i didn't go back down and ask for a different room but instead i hoped for the best. twice during the night i was woken up by loud conversations between people waiting for the elevator.the hotel wasn't full so i don't understand why the clerck would have done this.is it hotel policy to give people crappy rooms when others are available or is it just poor service?something like this can really undermind apotentially pretty good experience.i urge other people to stand up to such treatment i certainly will in the future.thank you for letting me vent.

March Break weekendPosted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: The room cleanliness
Cons: The pool cleanliness
Location: We just visited with family and friends
The hockey teams were so obnoxious and weren't being supervised. They ran through the halls until 2am the first night and 1am the second. After calling the front desk, the noise level decreased, but only for an hour, then revved up again. The pool wasn't clean, couldn't see the bottom for the entire weekend, globs of hair floating in pool. Then staff closed it on Sunday afternoon, saying it was too dirty to swim in. My judgement, but maybe they didn't address it earlier in the weekend, because people would leave and stay else where, like us, as we were there for a March break fun time as well as to visit family and friends, and all the kids wanted was to swim.

Fine, except for the Hockey playersPosted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Proximity to skiing, restaurants and highway. Décor and staff were extremely pleasant.
Cons: Timely Security response and management of unruly guests.
Location: Close to Barrie central
Wanted to be close to skiing - stayed overnight at the hotel with family and friends. Hotel staff and facilities were fine, however there was a hockey tournament nearby and many of the adrenaline charged teenaged players from various teams were staying at the same hotel, which prompted several calls to security and a terrible nights sleep. The hotel was extremely professional and gave us a rebate for our stay (true to Hilton's satisfaction policy). It is unfortunate that the various coaches and team parents did not bother to provide any management of their team members behavior and general disrespect for property and other guests. Call ahead and ask if any teenage sports teams will be staying there at the same time. If they are, you might reconsider your accommodation choice.

Our family of five shared a suite overnight.Posted Jan 21, 2015
Our stay was very pleasant. The suite was spacious and very clean, quiet and comfortable. Our kids are 6, 8 and 10 and they loved the pool. The complimentary breakfast in the morning made the day an easy start for us.

PERFECT - but no restaurantPosted Jan 15, 2015
Pros: Clean, modern, well ventilated (hugely important to me), roomy.
Cons: Some type of minimal food service should be provided for beside breakfast.
Location: Nearby: groceries, banking, hardware store, highway.
This is a BEAUTIFUL hotel with beautiful and clean rooms. It is VERY close to a grocery store and the highway. My only gripe (and this is my fault for not noticing) is there is no restaurant in the hotel. So when I arrived to my room at 8pm after a long day freezing in -25 degree Celsius temperature looking for a nice glass of wine and dinner... I was told "sorry we don't have a restaurant. There is wine at the grocery store and you can order for delivery." Darn! The last thing I felt like doing was going back outside and waiting 1 hour for delivery of my dinner. Beyond that little gap in facilities this hotel is SUPERB.

Nice hotel in BarriePosted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: The size of the junior suite was very generous. The room was well suited to our needs for this particular stay.
Excellent! Good location, not far from downtown Barrie.
