“You only have three choices...”

...and this is the only one I was in. Let's face it, Barrow is not for the timid or casual traveler. This hotel serves the purpose very well. Room was clean and warm, lobby was clean and user friendly. I'll book this place again if I get up that way.

“Top of the World good for top of the world”

Not extravagant but good given the remote location of Barrow.

“Don't let the outside scare you”

The Top of the World hotel in Barrow is perfect for a 2 night stay. The towels were the cleaninest towels I've seen in any hotel in over two years of travel! The bathmats are actual terrycloth bathmats and the rooms have all that you need for a good night's rest. The bed sheets were very soft and the pillows were perfect. The clocks have an ipod station. My room had a refridgerator and mircrowave. Easy to make snacks and hold water or cool drinks. (Ask about these items by calling first) I was there for only 2 nights and did not see much action around the hotel. The hotel was quiet - which was perfect for me. I would choose to stay here again for my business travel. There are several restuarants in the area and they are descent places. My favorite was breakfast at Pepe's. Try the basic egg, hashbrowns, bacon, toast breakfast - you can't go wrong (Not a fan of reindeer sausage). Pepe's literally next door to the hotel.

“Second choice of area hotels”

I would select the King Eider Inn as my first choice over the Top of the World Hotel. The Top of the World Hotel is adequate for a short stay, it seems older and worn but fairly well maintained. The room was for the most part clean and the bed was comfortable. If you are looking for the best location in Barrow The Top of The World Hotel is it since it overlooks the Arctic Ocean

“Acceptable”

I have just spent 2 days there. The hotel is general ok in such a remote place especially considering the clean rooms. The only issue there is that no one can help you with the baggage.

“Expensive oasis in the tundra”

considering that the location is at the edge of nowhere, they do a great job of providing adequate accommodations. The prices are exhorbitant-- rates rival the Sheraton in Anchorage. appreciated the airport shuttle as all roads are unpaved and muddy.

“not many choices but still would try somewhere else”

at least it's close to the airport
