“Rude hotel staff and bad location - I'd never go back”
Due to a failure made by the air plane company KLM, I missed my flight to Strasbourg on a Sunday and had to stay at an airport hotel in amsterdam. I called Cerise Strasbourg and explained the situation, and told them I'd be there the next day.
But when I showed up by noon on Monday, the hotel clerk told me a) There was no booking with my name and b) They hadn't got my phone call the night before. Eventually, she found my name and booking, but told me there was no room available for me. Since I was very tired after just a few hours sleep in Amsterdam, and since I had to be at the European parliament later that day, I asked her again if there really was no solution, She sighed and said Yes but only on the ground floor. is that very bad? I asked, and she looked at me as if I had insulted her...
To sum it up, the hotel lady had a really bad attitude and treated me like I was nothing but trouble. Also, the location was horrible, there's nothing to see and no restaurants in the neighborhood, and it's far away from town. Breakfast's not included in the room fee and WiFi only works in the reception. The room was super cold and the bed was tiny.
