“My favourite hotel in France!”

Checking into the Sofitel at Strasbourg was such a pleasant encounter. The front office personnel was friendly and patient in dealing with our relentless questions. Even the bell captain was very very polite and spoke excellent English. We'll strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to Strasbourg.

But beware, they'll try to get even with the extras, parking is 20Euro and breakfast 23 Euro! There is cheaper parking right infront of the hotel.

“Excellent Choice in Strasbourg”

We are fairly experienced travelers in Europe and truly enjoyed the Sofitel. We chose the Sofitel based on the star rating, traveler reviews on Expedia, and a very pleasant stay at the Sofitel in Manhattan a couple years ago. It was an excellent choice. The hotel was a true 4 star with good service and maintenance. Our room (deluxe category) was large and comfortable with a small minibar refrigerator and an electric kettle for coffee and tea. Best of all was the location, within easy walking distance of the cathedral, surrounding "tourist" areas of the Grande Ile, and a tremendous selection of restaurants/winstubs, etc.. It was nice that we could be so close to the tourist area without trying to sleep in the middle of the accompanying light and noise. During our time in Strasbourg, we came across many of the other 4 star choices offered and were glad we chose the Sofitel for this reason. It was also very easy to get in and out of Strasbourg on the A4/A35 for day trips in our rental car. Hotel staff were very prompt and efficient. We did not try the breakfast offered due to the cost (25 euro or $38 per person at the time we were there). Instead we took advantage of the refrigerator and went to the Simple food mart near the cathedral to buy yogurt and croissants. We spent less than 25 euro for both of us for the entire week. Alsace is a beautiful place and we will likely go back someday. The Sofitel will be our first choice of hotel.

“Simply Special”

I lived in Alsace as a student so to go back as a "grown-up" was really special. The Sofitel is close to my favourite spot - Place Kleber - and tucked away neatly into a small square off the side. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the beds a far cry from the lumpy hostel matresses I used to have to sleep on - they were simply divine! I certainly recommend staying there - the location is perfect and the service is classically Alasation - warm and accommodating. It was great to be "home"

Very calm and peaceful environment yet very central to explore Strasbourg.

“Fabulous Hotel and Staff”

Although our room was not huge, it was very comfortable, clean and quiet. It was alsodone in a modern style which pleases me. The staff was excellent and freindly. If I return to Srasbourg, I will definitely go back to the Sofitel.

“As expected - possibly the only viable hotel in town”

We were in one of the superior, refurbished contemporary rooms which were very nice. My sister had asked for a smoking room but the new contemporary (refirbished) rooms are all non-smoking, so she was upgraded to a junior suite. Only problems: the restaurant is a little expensive and the receptionist was really stupid, but thankfully the Concierge managed to hold the whole ground floor together.
