“A nice hotel located at the center of the city”

The hotel is just besde the SBB train station of Basel and several tram stations are just in front of it. The room is nice, clean and spacious but has no bathtub. The minibar is located on the 4th floor with free drinks. The front desk is friendly and you can print out travel documents at a desk behind the elevator on the ground floor. The high-speed wireless internet is included and the hotel offers free pass for you to take on any bus or tram in the city (that's true for all the hotels). In general, the hotels are expensive in Switzerland, but compared to the Eulor across the street, we tend to think this one adds more value - cheaper and more spacious..

“Great place to stay in Basel”

We were very happy with our stay at the Hotel Schweizerhof and found it to be a great value. The rooms looked brand new and were tastefully decorated. The location is conveniently located by the train station, and we didn't hear any traffic noise from our room. The staff was very accomodating when we mentioned that one of us was allergic to down bedding. We also appreciated the complimentary extras. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to people looking for a hotel in Basel.

“Hotel Schweizerhof Basel, Switzerland”

A fine convenient hotel right next to the central railroad station. One simple bus ride from the airport and then just walk across the street. Our room was clean and quiet. They have a fridge on each floor with free soda and juice. The breakfast was very good but pricey. 20 Swiss francs per person. (Everything in Switzerland is expensive.) The tram stops right in front of the hotel and all hotels in Basel provide a "mobility pass" that gets you a free ride on all local public transit.

“Very good well equipped and placed hotel”

The location of the hotel couldn't be more convenient - next to Basel SBB station and tram lines - - but not noisy because of good soundproofing. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, letting us check in at 11.00 am, and answering all questions and queries with a smile. The room was well equipped and very clean (recently refurbished by its appearance) but a bit too minimalist in decor for my taste. However, it had tea and coffee making in the room and air conditioning, which is very rare in Switzerland, particularly in a less expensive hotel. Another nice touch was free cold drinks and ice at the ice station on our floor. All in all, strongly recommended!

“Wonderful hotel”

This hotel really goes the extra mile to help its guests. Basel, and Switzerland as a whole, is quite expensive so it was very helpful to have free chilled soft drinks available for those staying (bottles of water, cans of cola and small cartons of orange juice). There was also a large bowl of apples available in the lobby area and you get a card for free travel in Basel during your stay (although I believe the travel card is given by all Basel hotels). I travelled to Basel by train and it was great to step out from the train station and immediately see the hotel (with its name on the roof) straight in front of me. The staff were very friendly and the hotel very comfortable (with a feather duvet) although, being only on the first floor and at the front of the hotel, I could hear the trams running just outside as I lay in bed in the morning and evening.

“Central hotel at good price”

Central hotel, all the usual conveniences, with an accommodating staff at the right price. If there on a weekend consider a room in the rear, as the hotel may become a bit too central (revelers in the square). Trams to all points and the train station are all within 100 yards.

Close to station, handy for trams so perhaps a little noisy if you are on the front, bur no problem with windows closed (the hotel has air conditioning). Short distance from the city centre, but very walkable or there are at least a couple of trams you can get from right outside the hotel. No restaurant, but plenty of good places to eat. Breakfast good.
