Good business hotelPosted Mar 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
I have stayed here several times, the hotel is clean with comfortable beds and a quiet location. I travel on business so the location is ideal for my customer as I have a hire car. If you don't have your own transport the hotel is quite a distance from altamura or Matera. The hotel restaurant is simple and does not have a huge range but I have not had a bad meal there. If you get a late ryanair flight in then eat at the airport as everything stops by 10pm! There are no other restaurants within walking distance, everything needs a car or taxi. They have free wifi which has a reapectable speed but it auto logs out every few minutes which can be infuriating when trying to download a newspaper for example I wish you could just stay logged in for your stay. The one thing I miss is having a bar you can sit at for a beer or other drink. Their bar is not staffed and there is nowhere to sit near it that is comfortable. They do have sofas to sit on but they are marooned between the lifts and the restaurant near a nice water feature so getting something to drink can be hard work. In summer the pool and outdoor area is great, they have an indoor pool and gym which are good for the winter months. All in all it is a good hotel and I enjoy staying there within its few limitations. I would not stay anywhere else for my needs.

Good Hotel after say of signtseeingPosted Jul 16, 2012 on Hotels.com
Hilton Garden Inn was first class. Staff, room and facilities all excellent. Value for money in all respects and the breakfast which was included in the rate was first class. Would not hesitate to visit this hotel again.

Loved itPosted Feb 12, 2011
Hilton Garden Inn Matera was beautiful and very comfortable. It's a little far outside town, but is very relaxing.

SpaciousPosted Aug 27, 2009
People visiting Matera might choose to stay in a hotel in the Sassi, but if you like to get out of town a little (only 4km) enjoy some space, and two beautiful pools, then try this hotel! The reception staff were great, the hotel offers all that you need, and it was all very comfortable.

Hilton Garden? More Like Hilton!Posted Jan 21, 2009 on Hotels.com
Though the Hotel is right outside of Matera do not let that keep you from staying at this great Hotel. The rooms are to American Scale and the Food is unbelievable. This is by far the nicest most clean hotel I have stayed at in Italy. If you have time check out the Spa. I am around this area every 3 weeks or so and have found my new home away from home! By the way everyone speaks very good English and treat you like a 5 star property!
