“Comfortable Cavern in Matera!!”
The large room and separate bath was actually a mini-apartment with a kitchen corner. Clean, with upscale furnishing, jacuzzi and high tech shower in the bath. We stayed one night, but this would have been a good place to spend a weekend. Parking is problemmatical for travelers with cars -- we parked illegally, which is ok on a weekday during the off-season. Note that breakfast is not included, although there is coffee and tea for that do it yourself jump start in the morninng. You can shop as you walk through the sassi, and practice your Italian cooking skills , or you can eat at one of several nearby trattorias. Finally, for the exercise challenged, note that the actual sleeping quarters are a good hike up the hill from the advertised checkin location.
