Welcoming and convenientPosted Aug 22, 2013
Pros: Friendliness of the staff. General cleanliness and practicality.
Cons: It would be good if the company could clarify their payment policies with the websites they use.
Location: Very central location, perfect for town and good for access to beach.
Generally excellent. This is a central hotel, right next to the railway station. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very small but perfectly formed. The only problem was that I thought I had paid for the room in advance, on the website, and my confirmation said, 'payment collected', but the hotel said they had not taken payment, which turned out to be the case.

Request a Room facing the seaPosted Jun 20, 2013
Pros: Location and overall brightness.
Location: See above for location information.
A fine stay. Though the room was small (even by French standards) it was very bright. And pleasant. In fact we loved returning to it at day's end. It was not the room we'd first received; that one faced the busy street and railroad station. But we requested and received a room facing the sea. We could not see the sea (other roofs in the way) but we knew it was close by. A great shower. The TV had CNN. The bed was a '10'. Lots of closet and shelf space. An elevator. A quick walk to the railroad and rent-a-car office. Two or three blocks from the main square and its dozens of restaurants. Three blocks from the beach. Two blocks from an immense Free Parking lot. Really. Price; most reasonable. What's not to like?

A little snug!Posted Aug 7, 2012
This is a pleasant hotel within easy walking distance of the centre of St Jean de Luz and the beach. We had a slight mix up with our booking, where I was expecting a large room, and the hotel had allocated only a standard room. When we approached the receptionist, she said we would have to speak to the manager who might be in today or tomorrow. Only after we said we'd contact Expedia to clarify this, did they eventually agree to give us a bigger room at the same price. I was still a little disappointed with the size of the room (we had to jam our suitcase under the desk and had only approx 18" clearance around the bed), but it was bigger than the first one, and did have a king size bed. Aircon worked well, but was a bit noisy and beeped in the night. Breakfast was varied and of good quality, and staff were happy to mind our luggage while we found somewhere to park - a constant issue in the town especially in summer.

Great locationPosted Oct 12, 2007
The hotel was well located, clean and comfortable. The room was basic, but that is to be expected for the price. The staff were also very friendly.
