When you book the room through expedia, you have not informed the hotel that you have mibility issues which could have been done easily by writting a comment while you booked and we will have informed you that the room you booked is on the 1st floor. Once you arrive at the hotel, we offer you to change of hotel with no charges from us which you refused. It was fun to stay in a castle. The breakfast was nice but not sure it was worth 13 euro. Should have booked a room downstairs as there is no elevator. However, the staff carried up and down our suitcases. Best bed ever!

Wonderful chateau
We had a wonderful stay at the chateau. Great reception and well appointed room with terrace. Had a swim in the heated pool with views of the Pyrenees. A short drive into Biarritz. Would return.

Beautiful property with relaxing atmosphere, my room is also nice with high ceiling and retro design. Staff service is excellent and I will definitely come back to stay with them again.

Very beautiful Chateau hotel, lots of antique furnishings and decor, set in lovely gardens and a very attractive modern swimming pool with comfortable loungers and friendly bar with views over the Pyrenees, wild flowers, and fields of horses. The chateau is out of town by the airport, which is very convenient at the start or end of a holiday. There is very little noise from the planes but you can hear the traffic nearby, although not see it as the grounds are lovely. It is about 20 minutes drive (or taxi) to the beaches. The chateau serves light food by the pool (salads, burgers etc) in the daytime and on Monday night there was a great BBQ by the pool. There is a smart restaurant next door - which we sadly couldn't try because we foolishly didn't realise it was a public holiday (Bastille day). There are no other restaurants nearby but normally it isn't a problem to get a taxi in.

Absolutely loved it!
Was such a beautiful Chateau. The staff were lovely, it was peaceful and relaxing, we had a fabulous time. Only thing I would say is there wasn’t a fan or aircon in our room, and it was a hot night. Also the shower isn’t fully enclosed so water gets on the floor a bit. Overall we were very happy and would definately stay again

A memorable chateau stay!
We loved the Chateau du Claire de Lune. The grounds and the Chateau exterior are beautiful. We stayed in the hunting lodge - in a clean, modern, light and spacious room - with a large private balcony overlooking the garden. Inside the main building the lounge and games room were our disposal, both lovely rooms. The breakfasts were served in the dining room and, we felt were good value. All three public species felt special. We were warmly greeted at reception and nothing was too much trouble. All needs were responded to willingly, promptly and in a friendly manner. The pool area would be a great extra for those that stay during warm periods.

Highly recommended. A lovely quiet location but only about 10 minute drive into Biarritz. Stunning property and beautiful gardens and grounds. Woke up to the birds singing and beautiful outlook. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Well, this is not my first time in this delightful place and I may asure you, it hasn‘t been the last! This utterly beautyful Chateau with its charme and gorgeous view over the Pyrenee-Mountains will always be my favourite in Biarritz. There might be more luxurious hotels, but none so hospitable and original!

Character Hotel Convient to Biarritz
Nice hotel with plenty of character in the country but not that far from Biarritz. It was very period so don’t be expecting rooms to be modern. I was a little disappointed that the pool was closed given the hotel uses this as it cover shot. Overall pleasant stay.

In recent days the outside temperatures were around 12 ° C in the morning, so we prefer to keep the temperature of the water warm by letting it close when nobody uses it. Regarding the rooms, we have rooms much more modern than the one you had booked, as shown on the photos at the time of your reservation. Great tranquil stopover.
This hotel has been a consistently good facility for using as a stopover when travelling through France and Spain. The grounds are fantastic especially when travelling with a dog. The service is warm and friendly and would definitely recommend.

Simply stunning
Beautiful chateau with stunning grounds. Dog friendly and very quiet. Could do with tea and coffee making facility in the room but other than that, can’t fault it. The staff were excellent and spoke very good English

Great Hotel in a great location
This is a frequent favourite, great hotel, very accommodating of the dog and nice garden rooms. Restaurant next to the hotel is very good but need to check days it is open.

Standard room is not good value for money as Windows have no view so it is quite dark and almost having a room with no windows. Also there is no air conditioning

Relaxing Stay in beautiful grounds
We stayed two nights and enjoyed a very warm and friendly welcome. The staff went out of their way to give us information about the area, what to do and see. The chateau is beautiful and we really enjoyed sitting in the well looked after garden

We had a lovely lovely stay here. The woman at the front desk was so kind and helpful. The view from the pool is beyond belief. I did not enjoy my dinner very much. It was very very slow and expensive. No choice for the children.

A Real Gem in a Grand Setting
My wife and I stayed one night in mid-March 2012. This hotel was a real find and a bargain at the price, much, much more than we expected of its 3 star rating. The chateau is a beautiful building, very grand, set in extensive landscaped grounds. It is very nicely furnished with lots of antique furniture, particularly in the public rooms. We had a large ground floor room which was well lit, with large windows overlooking the grounds. There were shutters to keep out the light at night. The windows are double glazed and even the door was doubled. We had a huge bed which was wonderfully comfortable, and there was a flat screen TV and wifi. The shower was in the bath. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The staff were excellent and very helpful.
