"Excellent rooms, location and service + good value"
We have been coming here for a decade because the location is convenient to the Bastille transport hub but it is quiet, especially rear facing rooms and near the wonder Blvd Lenoir market. Having the kitchenette means we can sample food from the market and make our own breakfasts just as we want them.Despite being a chain hotel we are welcomed by staff who remember us and Erwan was particularly helpful and friendly: we arrive just before check in time with a meal - he was happy for us to eat it in the breakfast area and provided cutlery. Rooms are generously large for Paris and well maintained.

    Where to stay in Bastille

Pocket Guide: Paris Bastille - Republique Ascott Hotels

Northeast of Place de la Bastille, this working-class neighbourhood is gradually becoming fashionable with younger Parisians. Trendy boutiques, cafés and bars are replacing the older shops and bistros, although some old-fashioned workshops survive. Left-wing sentiments are aired here annually on 14th July when France commemorates the Revolution. A few paving stones mark the site of the former Bastille prison.
