While it may be a temptation to just kick back and relax while visiting Batchelor, keep in mind that Top End's treasure-trove of scenic wonders lie just beyond your doorstep. You'll also find Virginia, 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the south, and Johnston 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the south.
When you come to Batchelor, visit Darwin. Approximately 40 miles (64 kilometers) away, this regional transport and shopping hub is where you'll find Parliament House, Hidden Valley Raceway and Fort Hill Wharf. Cullen Bay Marina, Crocosaurus Cove and Casuarina Beach are other attractions that should be included on every traveler's list.
If the weather looks good, take the time and discover Top End's open-air museums and open-air exhibits.
Shore fishing and bird watching are just a few of the relaxing activities in this area. Should you hear the call of the wild, follow the lead of local thrill seekers and spend a few hours abseiling or caving.
Much of Top End celebrates Australia Day on the 26th of January, so be prepared for changes to visitor attraction opening hours and transport schedules.
Truly memorable holidays are about making friends and enjoying new experiences. Batchelor is an excellent spot for doing exactly that.
