Great location, welcoming and comfortable

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: Mod cons, but in keeping with history of area.
Cons: No issues.
Location: Perfect for shopping, sightseeing and restaurants.
We have visited Bath many times. This time we wanted to stay overnight to have a nice meal and relax. The location was perfect, staff friendly and room very pleasing. We will definitely stay at the hotel again.

Lovely stay

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: Breakfasts!
Cons: n/a
Location: Loads to see and do in Bath. Very central location for walking around the City.
This is a lovely hotel and the breakfast buffet and menu in particular are excellent! The room was clean, had all the facilities we required and we were very comfortable staying here.

Perfect location, Shame about the room size.

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: The surroundings were perfect and as was the décor, cleanliness and friendliness of staff.
Location: The hotel was perfect location to watch Bath rugby, as well as wonder out for dinner and drinks In the evening. Just a couple of mins walk to Bath Spa
Whilst the hotel is beautiful and a perfect central location I can only say I feel disappointed. This is purely based on the room size and the location of our room provided. I paid a substantial amount of money for a luxury trip to Bath and unfortunately it didn't have the desired effect.

Thank you for sending in a review following your stay. I believe that the room you booked was a Classic Room, the first level of room available at the Hotel. We do have 3 levels, which increase in size; however all the rooms do vary in shape size, location etc. It is such a shame you didn’t ask to see any other rooms to see if it would have been possible to move into another room, either in the same category or if you wanted to upgrade to another to make your stay more comfortable. Short break at Francis Hotel, Bath

Posted Dec 27, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing could be improved.
Location: Central to the whole of Bath. Short walk to all we wanted to see - Abbey, Pump Room, Roman Baths, shops. Everything just around the corner, really.
Would loved to have stayed longer at this hotel. Everything was perfect from the time we arrived to the time we left. Tasteful furnishings in our room which was also very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were welcoming and very efficient and breakfast was excellent with attentive staff. Will certainly use this hotel again. It was central but the location facing Queens Square was quiet and peaceful in spite of the road. Triple glazed windows I suspect.

High quality hotel, very well located.

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: Most things.
Cons: The lighting in the bedrooms could be improved and a more user-friendly log-on for the free WiFi would help.
Location: The location is perfect and there are plenty of tourist sites, restaurants, theatres, etc nearby.
Check-in was a pleasure, our room was large, quiet, clean and well furnished. The level of light (both natural and electric) however, was less good. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. The cost was reasonable for a hotel of this quality but the optional breakfast was expensive. The hotel is very well located for almost everything in Bath.

Lovely hotel in the centre of bath

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: Central to everything in Bath.
Cons: A little bit pricey £145 for the room, we did not partake of breakfast £19.50 each seemed a bit steep when there was a lovely cafe around the corner.
Location: The Raven pub around the corner is a good place for those who like real ale and like a real pub. The Wild Cafe provided a lovely breakfast.
Hotel was lovely clean and comfortable with a gorgeous whiff of luxury and old fashioned elegance.

Wonderful rooms, staff, and restaurant

Posted Oct 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Francis Hotel was very nice, and has been renovated somewhat recently. The staff was friendly and courteous. We booked on short notice as some travel plans needed to shift due to some unexpected issues. We had no luggage, so they graciously provided us with a toothbrush kit, and a charger for my phone, and the rooms had bath robes, which was a plus. We also had dinner at the restaurant attached and it was delicious. Best Chocolate Souffle I've ever had!

Central Bath

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast and easy parking
Cons: Could increase cupboard and wardrobe space as room was quite small
Location: Hall & Woodcote is a very lively Gastro-Pub (with roof top facility) 5 minutes away. And a little gem is the Gin Bar - 120 different gins to try......
The Francis Hotel is ideally located in the centre of Bath, almost equi-distant from the Roman baths and the Crescent & Circus. It is very close to many shops, bars and restaurants, which allows guests to pop in and out during the day to deposit things back in the room A very nice hotel, with good facilities and very friendly staff, however our basic double room was quite cosy ie. small, with limited wardrobe and draw space - worth considering an upgrade.
