“Kennard Hotel Bath”
We arrived on a miserable, cold and wet afternoon in April and were greeted warmly by the hosts who showed us to our room and informed us of available sights and restaurants in the area, all of which are nearby within easy walking distance. The quality of fixtures and fittings in our room and indeed throughout the Hotel were outstanding from carpets and furniture through to window dressings, hardware, cutlery and crockery etc. The only thing I had an issue with was the miniscule size of our shower cubicle which was the smallest I have ever encountered and fortunately neither of us are large people because we would have been in trouble. Parking is a bit of an issue in that it is street parking and you are given a permit and told to go find a spot nearby. I suspect that is common to all hotels in Bath however and something that historic builings in any city with no extra land have to deal with. Free wifi internet acess was given which as overseas visitors was esential for us and worked fine. The food at breakfast was cooked and served by the proprietor and was top notch with a good variety available. We would have no hesitation in staying here again and we thought was good value for money.
“Charming, old-fashioned hotel with personal touches”
A charming Georgian hotel with a wonderful couple to take care of you. Secure entrance, clean and inviting. The husband checked us in in the evening and in the morning was cooking the Full English while his wife served in the lovely dining room. Coffee and tea tray so you can enjoy before leaving your room. Hot breakfast (included) was delicious, plentiful and served on fine china. In addition a full spread of cereals, toast, pastries, fruit, yogurts and an amazing variety of quality preserves - a great chance to try English specialities. Bath is expensive and this hotel was great value for money. There is no elevator, but our bags were carried up to our room for us. Beds were comfortable and everything was nicely decorated, clean and inviting. Small formal garden out back. Walk to tourist sites.
“Great B&B in Bath”
This is one of the best small hotels we have stayed in. Great location, close to all the sights in Bath. Wonderful rooms and immaculately presented. Phoned ahead to ask for restaurant recommendations and they were spot on. Circus and Raphaels were great. Everything about the breakfast was perfect. Great food and service. Arrived mid-day, parked outside and the owner came out with a parking permit for us. Even took our bags to our room. Would stay again if we visit Bath.
“Beautiful Hotel in a beautiful city”
Stop looking around; if you're considering the Kennard look no further. Had an overnight stay and only wished we'd had the time to stay longer. Outstanding
“Wonderful hotel, fabulous inn keepers”
The Kennard Hotel is housed in an older building, keeing the character of the times while providing modern conveniences such as an updated bathroom and flat screen TV. A tea kettle and various choices of teas and coffee are in the room. The couple who run the hotel is fabulous -- from carrying our heavy luggage up three flights of stairs (old home; no lift) to providing the most wonderful choices for their full English Breakfast. The dining room is sweetly Victorian, housed in the home's old kitchen. There is a buffet with cereal and fresh fruits as well as numerous choices of a cooked breakfast. Everything was truly delicious. The breakfast room overlooks a beautiful garden at the back of the house. The hotel is about a ten minute walk from Bath Abbey, the center of town, just across Pultney Bridge. It's a very quiet neighborhood with small shops and restaurants very nearby. Our hosts were extremely helpful in answering questions about what to do in Bath, called to reserve spots for us on the tour to Stonehenge, and encouraged us to take the free, volunteer run Walking Tour of Bath. I would go back in a minute!
“Great location - highly recommended”
The Kennard is close enough to the center of Bath to get there quickly, but far enough away to not be teeming with tourist traffic. The room was nice, with a wonderful view (we were on the top floor). The staff was wonderful, friendly, professional and extremely helpful. And the breakfasts were stellar. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
“Such a cute place, nicely run”
This is a wonderful little four-story hotel located within a much larger block of similar side-to-side housing that is very typical of Bath. I had the cutest attic room with an adorable compact bathroom, and a really nice view. (It was even called "Room with a View"). I mentioned when I left that I'd love to take the room with me wherever I go! However, there is no elevator in this small hotel (Inn), so it could be a problem if you were on the 4th floor (like me) and have problem with stairs. (Maybe call ahead to see if one of the lower rooms are available). Breakfast is included with several delicious options, and is served in a cute breakfast room. The hotel itself is located on a quiet street, but is in easy walking distance to the main sightseeing attractions. And CLEAN - I wondered how they actually got it THAT clean. Really enjoyed my stay there - felt the comfort of a small inn, yet did not feel as "on display" as one can feel in a small B&B (for the introverts among us!). I did have a double-room, which was big enough for me, but might be a bit small for a couple.
“Spectacular experience”
The Kennard is a fantastic hotel experience. The hosts are wonderful - helpful without being in your space. The hotel is immaculate and breakfast is...absolutely top class. I wouldn't go anywhere else if I was back in Bath.
“Where are we now”
A beautiful hotel, extra special finishing touches. Very close to everything. Sevice very very good. Would recommend, help with suitcase up the stairs. Shower fantastic
“Gem of a little hotel”
Off the beaten path, yet a short walk from anywhere interesting, the Kennard was an excellent place to stay. Extremely well kept, good service, good breakfast. I had a single room which was a little small, but it is a single. That's fine because my purpose for visiting Bath was to be out and about in Bath, not hanging around my hotel room. The owners were wonderful and full of good information.
