A very well presented property. Staff were friendly. Check in was quick & easy. Breakfast was yummy. Only complaint was the beds were uncomfortable; too hard for us.

Not what we expected

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: Looks cute from the outside
Cons: Cleaning, bed, pillows, water pressure, cooking.
Location: City of Bath
We anticipated a quaint bed and breakfast. The room matched the pictures, and we appreciated the free wifi, but our positive experience ended there. Water from the bathroom sink was fine, but from the shower was little more than a trickle, making showering very difficult. The bed was uncomfortable. The pillows were lumpy. And by the way we found a moldy sandwich in the bedside table. We shared our problems at checkout and were told, "The moldy sandwich is definitely our fault. Sorry about that." Really? That's it? I was told the water pressure was because the building was old, but the agent had no response when I pointed out the sink water pressure was fine. (It's their building, it's their fault. I don't care if the building is old - you own it, you can fix it.) Oh, and breakfast was undercooked. And there is a per-person charge if you want to use the hot tub.

チェックインは早目が良いかなぁー

Posted Jul 4, 2015

Quite all right for the price

Posted Jun 18, 2015
We booked hotel for 2 nights, when we arrived, we were told that there is Room but only for 1 night, too many bookings were taken. But after a while they found solution, and fastened the refurb of another Room. In the end ok, all What we needed, nice bfast, but at first it was scary and could break our plans for stay.

Nice hotel

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Location: Historic locations like Lacock, Colerne, Corsham, North Wraxall were fun to visit. George's Inn on the Canal and Jamie's in Bath were great.
Good location, helpful staff, attractive clean rooms, great breakfast

Faulty towers

Posted Jun 15, 2015
More of a b & b definitely not a hotel . No one on reception was greeted by the cleaner who then served breakfast in a jumper covered in paint . Rooms and decor very dated . Bathroom smelt musty mould around bath seal , bath took 20 mins to empty ! Kettle element was covered in rust had to wash it out umpteen time to clear rust particles . Mugs hadn't seen a dishwasher since purchased! Dust on picture frames and four poster bed had cobwebs on . Very over priced at £145 a night would not pay more than £60 .

Comfortable and cosy

Posted Jun 7, 2015
The hotel is well placed if you don't mind a 15 min walk down quite a steep decline into the city. A bus service is right outside so that is also helpful if you are not keen on walking. Car parking in the Bath Centre is not easy so walking or bus is a great alternative. Our room was small but well equipped however the ensuite was tiny and shower cubicle particularly cramped. I had trouble bending over to pick up the soap it was so narrow! Breakfast was great and the staff very helpful though I would say they were courteous rather than friendly. Good car parking on site and wifi was a reasonable speed. The Bear Hotel is a short Walk down the street and has good counter meals.

Walk to Bath city center

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Pros: price is good and clean
Cons: little closer to city center
Location: restaurant down the street and shops, but mostly need to go to city center
stayed on third floor in family type room, nice and private, own bathroom. clean and comfortable. breakfast very nice in dining room, free parking on property. Walk to downtown 3 times on ped. walkway, easy and nice. Building looks little scarey on outside but nice once in. has pool outside but cool.

Delays in serving breakfast. Reception not manned although there was a call bell. No room view.
