You get what you pay for

Hotels in Baton Rouge are expensive, so this one stood out. Unfortunately. The hotel was passable - the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was fine, with hot water etc. However, the clientele made me feel unsafe. I was woken on two evenings by the other guests: once when someone shot fireworks off the balcony, and another time when a family down the hall were shouting obscenities at 1 am.

Aged building, outdated fixtures, tired.

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: The room cooled well.
Cons: See above.
Location: Very busy intersection with a water park and easy access to greater Baton Rouge.
The Days Inn was difficult to access from the road. First impressions were the same as last impress: drab and outdated. The room was tight with the desk chair impeding the path through. The bathroom hadn't been updated in 40 years - the toilet always needed more than one flush and the shower had no miniature soap or shampoo. The WIFI was useless. The A/C was very loud but it cooled well. The continental breakfast (on Sunday morning) had no milk, juices, fruit, meat, pancakes or muffins. I didn't want to eat a plain bagel or give my daughter cereal without milk. On my drive home, I saw other Days Inn on the road that charged $29 per night, which seemed what this place had a right to charge, but I paid $89 with Expedia's best price guarantee.

Absolutely DISGUSTING!

Posted Jun 3, 2014
This hotel was the absolute worst hotel stay of my life. The rooms were so hot and humid the bed sheets were soaking wet down to the mattress. There was hair in the bed and bath tub, and the room had a strong, terrible odor, resembling mold. We complained to the front desk and they out us in another room which had all the same problems but also had a broken sink counter , and had NO TOILET PAPER! We decided to get a refund and take our business elsewhere and were denied a refund because it had been more than half an hour since we checked in!! Worst hotel ever!

Place was in need of a makeover

Posted May 29, 2014
Pros: Getting our money back for the next two nights and moving to a nice Holiday In Expedia found for us instead.
Cons: Bulldoze and start over, place was a dump.
Location: Great location, fantastic shopping across from the mall, close to downtown and LSU Tiger Stadium.
Deplorable rooms, not clean, antiquated beds, tv, carpet, drapes. Looked like original 1970's worn out rooms and decor. Place is falling apart and dirty.

Centraly located

Room had a musty smell, everything appeared to be worn and needed replacing. Room could have been cleaner, shower curtain had mold, blood on bathroom door mirror. Also terrible sheet rock job on ceiling, wasn't floated properly.

Bayou Country Superfest weekend

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: In room microwave and nice size refrigerator
Cons: Keep bar/club traffic from parking in guest parking area...service air condition units
Location: Easy driving distance from LSU, Blue Bayou and many restaurants
Arrived around 4pm on Friday afternoon...staff was cordial but not very informative about anything. The person checking in ahead of us inquired about shuttle service for the event and the desk clerk couldn't tell him for certain times or availability. Once getting into our non-smoking room the room smelled like smoke...the air condition unit worked when it wanted to, even changing fan settings multiple times you either froze or sweat the entire night. There was a club/bar on site which made parking a nightmare when coming back in from the Bayou Country Superfest...and sleeping was difficult from the drunk craziness going on in the parking lot, yelling and engine revving. Other than having a refrigerator, microwave and hot bath it was a miserable experience.
