Had less than 24h to book a hotel in this busy metropolitan area, & I must say I was very pleased overall with this Hampton location. The lobby & rooms were very clean, the bathrooms spotless, the amenities well stocked! For the price we paid, I was more than pleased. However my only complaint was something that involved a staff member. My husband & I reside in east Texas, roughly 4.5h from this location. Given this was a Friday & we'd both worked, I knew it would be we past the 3p check-in time before we'd get there. Even so, we encountered 2 wrecks, which set us even further back. Long story short, I called the lobby twice to let them know it'd likely be after 9p before we'd arrive, but well before midnight. On the first call, the receptionist was very friendly & polite, & lead me to believe that this was OK & that I would not lose my room. However, on the 2nd call the same receptionist offered to "go ahead and check (me) in" to the system so that, if in the event I didn't make it by midnight, my room would stay reserved. He offered to do this, however, only if I'd give him my credit card number "in the event of a liability." Having been former military, I have stayed in umpteen hotels all across the country, & have never been asked such a question. I politely refused & stated I'd take my chances. The reason I find this odd is that I'd already booked & paid for my room on Expedia, thus shouldn't my card already be on file for "liabilities?"

Pros: The hotel had everything i needed.
Cons: Not getting a room near crying children.
My room was very nice with the staff members very pleasant and helpfull.

Checking in, lobby is small, was crowded! 2 people checking people in, the guy never said welcome, he handed me room card, I asked where do I go, he said turn your room card over its written on card, elevator is behind the wall. The bed was totally hard and you could feel the springs..(old!)

Location: Good Thai restaurant 1 mile away. For southern food, try Sammy's. It's about 4 miles away.
Nice hotel, in keeping with the better Hampton Inns. Very friendly and accommodating reception staff. Even though it is next to the I-10 freeway, there was no freeway noise in our 8th floor room.

GREAT Breakfast, clean rooms and a terribly uncomfortable bed just about sums it up. They promised not to hold anything on my card for incidentals and they LIED. Other than that and the bed, it was an okay stay.
