Disappointed. I expected better.

Pros: Just about anything you would need during your stay can be purchased within the grounds of the hotel. Restaurants, ATM Machines, etc.
Cons: Our experience there could have been much more enjoyable without scuffed up walls, worn out carpet, very used furniture and had cleaned better!
Location: The hotel is located near Louisiana State University, and many other Cites Baton Rouge is known for. There are also several convient stores near by.
The lobby and other areas of the Hotel look beautiful! The room we were given was an entirely different story. It needs new carpeting and furniture. The best part of the room was the bathroom. It is very large with a television in the large mirror and a spa like shower.

Cheesy hotel far from anywhere

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Walls of my room were stained, scuffed, and gouged. Room seemed clean, but the shower had a very sour smell. Climate control was too temperamental and I woke up in the night sweating. Walls were paper thin and I could hear tvs on either side of me. I had a stained form letter from management wishing me a pleasant stay with coupons for free coffee that had expired the day before. There is loud music in every common area, and strong artificial scents perpetually pumped in. The room itself had a strong febreeze smell. The hallways had lots of dirty linens and dishes outside the guest rooms. The property is isolated from any other part of town. If you have no vehicle, you are out of luck--nothing is in walking distance. The staff was sparse; one morning I went down to look for the coffee shop and had to explore as there was no one at the front desk to show me the way. Overall, pretty cheesy and cheap. The rooms seem nice at first, but don't hold up under any level of scrutiny. The management needs to pay attention to details and overall cleanliness if they want to continue to bill this place as a premium property. I will not be recommending the l'auberge hotel to friends.

The hotel was beautiful!

Pros: I loved the room, and the buffet located in the casino.
Cons: Winnings at the hotel's casino, and more shops.
Location: The location is in the middle of nowhere with nothing else to do.
My stay was very accommodating. The mattress was extremely comfortable, and the room was beautifully done. The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. However, it is located in no man's land. If you are not a true casino person this hotel is not for you. I was simply trying to have a relaxing getaway vacation and had intended to venture outside of the area. The weather was horrible and I ended up having to stay put in the hotel. There wasn't anything else to do. There was only one shop on the second floor. All was good though.

Check-in

Posted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: The room was nice
Cons: The attached casino was rather small for the size of the complex and the most popular machines required a minimum of three dollars or five quarters.
Location: Location off the main travel lane (I-12)
The front desk clerk's statement that $50 dollars would be held was somewhat of a surprise. The addional statement that it would be held for five days was insulting. It was not a matter of money but principle. The thought that the hotel was making interest money on my (and everyone else) impounded $50 just rubbed me wrong.
