“Issues”
When we got there, we were informed Valet does not work on Sundays. Our first room did not have hot water and we had to move to another room. Buffet did not have a large variety. Location for our reason for staying was perfect. Needs a few improvements but would stay again.
“This place was very disappointing”
Poor maintenance, horrible breakfast and sketchy location make this a place to avoid.
“location worked well for our purposes”
Some of the areas around the hotel were not the nicest at night, however we were within walking distance for everywhere that we needed to go. The people at the hotel were friendly and the breakfast buffet was nice. I would stay again if the need arose.
“Hotel & Casino3”
Room was well maintained. Linen and towels were clean, appearing almost new. Bathroom was clean. Free parking garage almost attached. Price was reasonable for the service. Parts are being renovate but not interfering with stay. Would stay there again.
“Best of the Belle”
We enjoyed staying at the Belle of Baton Rouge. My boyfriend and I were only there for one night because we came for the LSU/W.Kentucky game but the amount of time we spent in the hotel was relaxing. The continental breakfast was exceptional. There were PLENTY of options for breakfast foods. The only poor thing about this hotel is the paper thin walls. Seemed like the kids in the room next to us were standing in our room screaming at us, but the first call we made to complain the problem was taken care of. I would give this hotel 4 stars our of 5 if it were up to me. Very nice people and the Casino is in walking distance.
“After Game Access”
Not able to get back due to the numerous detours. Circled the inner city several times. police not very helpful when I could see hotel one block over
“I've stayed in better 2 star hotels.”
When hotel staff were asked specifically for things, they were very helpful. However, we had to replace the broken hairdryer and our room didn't get cleaned during our stay. The breakfast buffet was good and hot, but had little variety.
“Nothing happens in downtown Baton Rouge”
Not much to do in Baton Rouge on a Monday night in October. The Shucks on the Levee restaurant was friendly, good service. The casino was filled with dense smoke. Can't imagine you'd want to spend more than 10 minutes before going out for fresh air.
“Poor decision to stay here”
We chose this location because of proximity to Tiger Stadium. We wanted to walk to the stadium from the hotel. It is not within reasonable walking distance and the neighborhood in between the stadium and hotel was awful. In fact, both on the way to the game and on the way back, locals stopped us and offered a ride because the neighborhood was so poor. The hotel is like taking a step back in time to 1980. No nice amenities down to the TV, sheets, low ceilings, bedding, shower. It was very much outdated. If you're looking for a place to stay to attend an LSU football game...you can do much better for much cheaper. Nowhere near worth the price. Not even close. Not even worth 1/2 of what we paid.
“Friendly and helpful staff and would definitely go back.”
I only wish the Casino was not so far from the hotel but I understand it has to be. We ate at both the restaraunt by the water for dinner and at the breakfast buffet in the hotel the next morning and the food was absolutely awesome. There was such a variety of food to choose from and the hotel lobby is very clean. We had a wonderful time and would encourage anyone to stay there. Oh, and the Rangers won the ACLS...So that made our stay complete!
