Lovely old hotel

Posted Apr 21, 2015
The owners Derek and Monique were brill. Couldn't do enough for us. The hotel was straight out of Shakespeare. Not usually a lover of old hotels but this was perfect. The pub up the road, Queens Head served great food, good selection of real ales and wine. Would stay again. Angie & Graham

Excellent B&B - highly recommended

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Only stayed one midweek night with work. Wonderful warm welcome by Monique. Room superb with private bathroom. Thought the dressing gowns were a good idea and found their attention to detail excellent, they really understood their guests. Slept soundly which makes a change for me when I'm staying away. The breakfast was superb, and thanks to Derek and Monique they accommodated my early start. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and Monique freshly bakes mini muffins each morning, and they were equally delicious. I think I was spoilt! Went for a meal at the Queens Head within walking distance, meal very good too. Would go back again and highly recommend.

Pros: Really friendly host Derek and great breakfast from Monique

I had a very comfortable nights stay and would stay again.

An excellent B&B

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: Nil
Location: A pretty part of the country with plenty to do and see including Battle Abbey and Bodiam Castle. The coast is only a few minutes drive away.
A superb old house sensitively updated inside to provide excellent modern facilities which were pleasing and comfortable. The staff were also attentive and helpful throughout and the breakfast was outstanding !! I would happily recommend this B&B to anyone.

Joli B&B, accueil charmant

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Accueil vraiment charmant

Excellent value for your money

Moniique and Derek were fantastic hosts. The food and ambiance were wonderful. Our room was small but beautifully attired. Bath was new (recently added to the old house). We could have stayed there for days. Within walking distance to a great pub for dinner. Lots of tourist interest things very close by car. Highly recommend it.

A most enjoyable place to stay

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Old world charm of the building and hospitality of our hosts.
Location: Sedlescombe is a village on a country road with geese (belonging to the pub) on the green. We enjoyed our visit to Pashley Manor gardens.
Our hosts Derek and Monique were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Monique's cakes and breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed afternoon tea and cakes in the garden, and a glass of wine whilst reading in the evening. Our rooms were clean and tidy, as was the rest of the house, and our bed very comfortable. We are looking forward to our next visit.

A fantastic stay

Well where to start, This is a lovely charming and pleasant place to stay where nothing is to much. I arrived after a long day on the road to a very warm welcome and a fresh pot of coffee along with fresh cakes. The owners could not do enough and when shown to my room I was given a history lesson about the house and the area perfect! After a great night’s sleep in a very clean and comfy room I enjoyed a fresh breakfast and with all the trimmings. Even though I was on business I would recommend Kester House to everyone who is looking for a charming get away. I'll definitely be coming back and bringing my wife next time.
