Perfect Babymoon

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: The resort was the perfect size. The restaurants and pool area wasn't too close but it wasn't too far either. It was walking distance.
Location: The resort was about 20 mins from the airport.
Riu Palace Bavaro was perfect for our baby moon. It was mostly an adults only resort, which was exactly what we were looking for. The resort itself seemed fairly new and the staff was very accommodating. The pool area was very relaxing as well as a place to join in on some activities. The price of our stay was quite up there, but we only booked a week in advance. But I feel like we got what we paid for, which was a 5 star resort with new, clean rooms, good food and a picture perfect location.

We stay for 5 nights. The hotel is nice with a lot of restaurants with different style of food. Great Beach near the pool with a lot of palmera shade.

Restfull Vacation

Posted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: Accomodations in the VIP area and the friendly staff.
Cons: Wine needs improvement. Safe, drinkable water .
Location: Walking on the beach, trip to Catalina Island, relaxing around the pool.
Great location for a much needed vacation. Accomodations were fantastic in the VIP section. Room was always kept clean by excellent and friendly staff. Pool area was a nice change, being that this is a adult only section. We plan on a return vacation to this hotel.

Pros: The staff was great!!
We loved our stay. We had an oceanfront room. Our first room was first floor. Could not see the ocean only palm trees. Asked to be moved to the second floor and there was no problem moving. Beautiful view. Large spacious room. Very clean.

Very good resort

Posted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: everything
Cons: entertainment, been to a lot of RIU resorts same shows at all
Location: location was good, lot of activities not to far away, casino on site was closed (never mentioned during booking)
Great beach for walking, resort was excellent, staff great, ample availability of food/drink, activities all day long. only problem we had was with expedia at time of booking , we wanted ocean view, paid for upgraded room upon arrival was told they did not exist, garden view only........very disappointing

Could be 5 star

Posted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Beautiful grounds, stellar staff, beautifully pristine and clean rooms and restaurants, very good entertainment, fairly priced.
Cons: Restaurants especially Taino must improve food quality. You must book rooms for availability not continue to cause such unhappiness with check-in.
Location: Horrid shopping at a mall. Day excursions on land and sea, action seeking, beachfront water activities.
The accomodations, staff a d facility are a #5. The food lacks 5 star. At least one of the specialty restaurants is sadly lacking. One specialty restaurant had the only decent good red wine on the property, and in checking it is only an $8 bottle. Wonder what junk we were drinking over rest of resort. The tweaks to improve this resort would be small; improve food, keep light beer in supply, it is El Presidente most be sort of local, give guests the rooms they booked-stop pulling this "upgrade crap" if I want a spa room Id book it, I want what I booked ocean view. Too many guests were discussing this for it to be rare.

Excellent place to stay in Dominican Republic

Posted Mar 11, 2015
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff members were great and the bartenders and waiters around the pool were very entertaining. I thought the food was very good. The only minor downsides I could find was the minibar was not cold and I was told that was normal for all the rooms and the wifi basically only worked in the lobby. I could only get minimal wifi in my room or other places around the hotel. As for the minibar...we just got ice from vending and it was fine! Loved every minute of my vacation!

Room Keys Never Work and the Staff Could Care Less

Posted Mar 10, 2015
Cons: working room keys
Would have been more enjoyable if I didn't have to have my key reprogrammed EVERY DAY. I spoke with numerous other guests that had the same problem. It became apparent after the second time this happened they could care less. No apologies, taking responsibility or attempt to rectify the actual problem. Bar and Wait staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Decent overall value THE CASINO IS CLOSED (we were not advised of this)
