Paihia in the RainPosted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: It is well placed with a great view. Everything was well appointed and the beds very comfortable.
Cons: Maybe the towels could have been a bit bigger and thicker..Tourist guide in the white folder needs updating.
Having just spent a weekend at the Anchorage in Paihia.we were surprised to see that Paihia shops were not up to the standard they used to be. So many now closed. It was very wet for most of the time we were there and its definatley a fine weather town,.A trip to Russell on the sunday was nice when the sun did come out. We had very nice meals at several restaurants and felt sorry for the owners for the lack of patronage. Yes we will go back ...in the summer.

This was a wonderful place to stayPosted Jan 14, 2014
Pros: Clean, Quiet, Close to activities, nice staff, were able to get a suite with a kitchenette so we could cook some meals
Cons: Could have beach towels made available
Location: Swimming, kayaking, boating, beaching, ferry rides, scuba
This was a wonderful place to stay with my adult children, We had a two bedroom suite that was just across the road from the water. It is at one end of a line of hotels and so it was more quiet than I think other places would have been. It was within walking distance of the ferry, restaurants and other attractions. The staff were really nice people and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again

I would not hesitate to recommend the Anchorage to anyone staying at the Bay of Islands. The staff are friendly and helpful. the room was excellent. the shower was even similar to the one that we had when we stayed at the Sydney Four Seasons Hotel in Australia.

Great hotel close to beachPosted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: Walking distance to everything and the view
Cons: Longer free wifi
Location: Literally across the street from beach and a block from town.
Quaint very nice very clean rooms. We had 2 comfy king size beds on the second floor with a beach view. Was not expecting a kitchenette so that was a plus. The hostess was very accommodating and very sweet too. Close to everything in Paihia. It might get loud in the busy summer days but perfect in every other way.

Best place in Paihia!Posted Aug 8, 2013
Pros: Location, staff and it was very clean.
I stayed here with my friend, while exploring the North Island in the winter. We loved this place! The staff couldn't be sweeter and was really helpful when we wanted to find new things to do and places to explore. It was very clean and the room we got had everything you could want if you planned to stay a few days. The location was great for pretty much anything you could want.
