“Fantastic”

Tha hotel did not look too wonderful as we arrived at dusk on a wet evening but how wrong we were !.Our room was cosy and the view awesome! and our evening meal was spectacular and reasonably priced.

“Well appointed rooms and great location”

Really enjoyed our stay as a romantic break for my partner and I. Beautiful view, own balcony overlooking the lagoon pool and absolutely enormous bed :) Great stay!

“Copthorne Christmas”

Our stay was enjoyable enough, staff were generally friendly and the Christmas dinner as a buffet was good without being high quality. However, the hotel is looking rather tired and in need of refurbishment.

“Dated decor, no soundproofing and average food”

The hotel seemed to have no sound proofing at all and we were in the downstairs of a 2 story building with the pool right outside. You could hear conversations clearly through the walls on both sides and above us, the plumbing running, TV sound, people using the toilet and every footstep and running child in the wooden passages on both floors. It was so noisy it was difficult to get to sleep and we were woken up at 6am every morning by the people upstairs. The hotel was tired. We had a small, old fashioned TV (square) in our room, one light wasn't working, the lever that directed water to either the shower head or bath tap was broken and water came out of both outlets at the same time, one mug was broken, we had to ask for the tea and coffee supplies to be refilled. The food was mediocre and the choice limited and after one disappointing lunch we chose not to eat dinner there at all during our stay. Though the staff were friendly, the service was average. We visited nearby Keri Keri for a morning and when we got back at 2.30pm our room still hadn’t been serviced and the hotel wasn't full. We could have paid the same price in another hotel elsewhere in the country and enjoyed better facilities and service. It is a beautiful location, but as we've visited Paihia twice before we were looking for peace, sleep and relaxation so we were disappointed with the hotel.

“What a Waste!”

Extremely ran down place, old and tired rooms, spa not working, breakfast is crap......! Despite the stunning location, beautiful views around and friendly and helpful staff. Such a Waste! Rated 4* - actually not more than 2*.
