The Swimming pool temperature was very cold, kids could not swim. Solar heating for pool means max temp is 27deg cel, but water felt way colder. Wifi internet was very slow and un-usable. switched to mobile data and was much faster, i was told they have fibre but issue raised with provider. carpets looked dated and needs replacing.

Thank you for your feedback. Our pool is heated by the sun so unfortunately if the weather is not great it can affect the water temperature. We apologize for any issues you experienced with the WiFi and will ensure this is looked into.

This was by far the most comfortable bed we slept in during our time in New Zealand. Our room was large and cozy. I liked that the sink, toilet, and shower were all in separate spaces - making it easy for us to share the space. The hotel is in a great location - the pier being a 4 min walk from our room. The sunrise views were incredible. Felt like this was a great choice for comfort, location and value. Would stay here again no problem.

Hotel is right on the beach and in between all the local bars and restaurants. The pool is really clean, as are the rooms. Loved our stay there

It was very noisy - cars parked outside the apartments so car doors slamming/ engines running early/late. Worse than that was the sound of coaches parked right outside your room with their engines running and filling your room with fumes. It was unfortunate as the room was convenient and very clean.

We loved our stay! The staff was so friendly. Our hostess Kyla at breakfast was so very helpful on things to do and see. Our room was very comfortable and we loved our view of the water in a Je. Suite.

Stayed in 408. Corner suite with views to die for. Outdoor furniture very tired but everything you need for any length of stay was provided. Had a number of unwanted visitors in the form of some kind of small black crickets on the last night, probably brought on by the rain that day. Other than that would definitely recommend. Easy 2 minute walk to Paihia shops and bars.

I have stayed at the Kingsgate Hotel four times and it is excellent value for money on the waterfront. The rooms are clean and tidy, parking outside your room and a short walk to restaurants and shops. Highly recommended.

Great location in Paihia
Great location to relax and see the bay right across the street and to hear the waves splashing on the shore. Great access to all shops yet distant enough from clouds.

The hotel was OK, but wasn't impressed with the location. Walking to restaurants was difficult with the extremely steep streets, and parking was a problem. We had to park in the parking garage in the building and there's no validation, so a 24 hr stay is $45 a day.

Room and bathroom were okay, comfortable enough for a few days. However our ground floor room was the last in the corridor, so when people entered or exited the door to outside it would slam loudly which was quite bothersome especially in the early hours of the morning.

We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the room and bathroom were. You can tell they had been remodeled and and the upkeep has been good. Close to everything in the town. Staff were very nice and helpful.

Breakfast was good. Staff is polite. Shower head was broken in the bathroom though somewhat usable. Light switch in room had no one/off switch other than turning off all power with room key or pulling circuit breaker for lights.

Enjoyed the terrace by the pool.
Nice accommodation at a reasonable rate. Nice pool with adequate seating/tables, plus a terrace area near pool. Five minute walk to a variety of dining, shopping and water excursion meeting points. Staff allowed us to keep rental car on the property after checkout until we returned mid-afternoon after Bay of Islands Scenic Cruise, which included a swim. Used indoor shower at pool area before driving onto our next tour area.
