Good locationPosted Sep 8, 2014
Whilst not the busiest time of year and we went in some terrible weather, this was still an enjoyable getaway. The Kingsgate is a large hotel that it's a little dated but had comfortable enough rooms for the short time we were there. It's close to the water and easy walking distance to cafes and shops.

Perfect location and free on-site parking.Posted Aug 27, 2014
I stayed 2 nights with my 14 yr old son - we loved the place. Pool, spa, games room and an easy 1 - 2 minute walk to restaurants, i-Site and supermarket. With beautiful views directly over the road to the Bay Of Islands and every brochure under the sun at reception! Great breakfast and restaurant menu had plenty of variety at affordable prices. We would highly recommend for value, location and a great place to stay.

Great location near the shops and wharf.Posted Jun 4, 2014
My wife and I with our 10 year old daughter stayed in a standard room which was adequate for our needs. We have the bed and breakfast package. Great cooked breakfast would definitely recommend. We had dinner as well and that was great to. Awesome dining room looking out over the water. We enjoyed our stay and the staff where very friendly especially the lady at reception in the dining room each morning, she was most lovely.

Beautiful SpotPosted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Great location looking straight at Islands and just a short walk to village or beach. Best part is the carvery buffet dinner, superb food, not too over the top but generous selection especially of salads, cheeses and yummy veges. As a vegetarian its not always good for us, this also was great roast for the meat lovers. Buffet breakfast is wonderful too. With good food, nice hotel and a bike ride in the morning this was a great weekend and all in the cost.

Nice locationPosted Apr 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
Staff very friendly - clean and large room - stayed over Easter so banging shut of other hotel doors was a bit annoying, and parking was full. But these were only minor bugbears Great hotel and would stay there again.

Room was clean, grounds are nice, support staff are friendly and helpful, location is prime. Absolutely no views unless alley or parking lot are your thing. We wish we would have only stayed 1 night but had already prepaid for 3 nights. There are nicer hotels for less in Paihia.
