“xmas in pahia”

it was a great experiance . nice place friendly staff and helpful as well . enjoyed using the spa and having dinner on the balcony overlooking the sea and beach . my son and wife enjoyed thoroughly .

This matched my expectations with only 2 minor issues. No WIFI, although there was broadband via cable - my AirBook insists on WIFI. Also the restaurant was extremely good but very pricy for the little tiny bit of pretty food that you get. The view was picture perfect and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is nice. The room was fine, although the dishwasher was out of service. The restaurant is very expensive (NZ$11 for a bottle of sparkling water), but the food was very good.

“Book for dinner”

The first hotel I have ever stayed in that told me "you can't eat here, the restaurant is full" as I checked in. Fortunately Paihia has other good places, but it was not the best start to the stay. That aside it is as good as any in the area and the restaurant (yes, we managed to get a table later in the week) is magnificent. Internet charges and the lack of Wifi are, like most of New Zealand, outrageous in 2011.
