Great location, luxurious and spacious.Posted May 17, 2015
Pros: It was within walking distance to everywhere and perfect for a family.
Cons: Nothing really
Location: It was close to the town. There were great tours available and we had a superb dinner at The Duke of Marlborough Hotel. Gorgeous bays nearby.
We were travelling with our three adult daughters and the cottage in Russell was a perfect place to stay. Everyone had their own room, we had three bathrooms and full kitchen and laundry facilities. It was very comfortable and luxurious and spacious. We also used the pool and spa area and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Your own homePosted Mar 15, 2015
The "cottages" are truly large, modern homes. They are perfect for a family, including a washer and dryer, and complete kitchen. There is a nice communal pool, and the center of town (and the waterfront) is just a couple of blocks away. This was the biggest pleasant surprise in our 3 week trip to New Zealand.

Russell cottages - roomy but need flyscreeningPosted Jan 25, 2015 on Hotels.com
On the positive side - my cottage was very spacious, kitchen well appointed, huge bed(2 king singles pushed together). The concierge/receptionist was very friendly and helpful. On the negative side, the plug in the bathroom vanity stuck every time it was used, the bathroom/laundry/bedroom access was all very cramped, there was no bath and the biggest issue was the lack of insect screening. Most of the doors and windows opened, which was a necessity to get any fresh air(no air conditioning)but the mosquitos pouring in from outside were huge. It was either be covered in bites, fill the place with insect spray or be trapped in a very warm cottage with no air flow. This definitely needs attention as I imagine Summer is peak season.

Very nice, homely stay in beautiful RussellPosted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: Comfortable, clean, well-appointed
Location: Dolphin watching; walking; nice restaurants ( we liked the Gables); little shops.
After a long journey (tip: put Pahia in your satnav and take the ferry. The route given by our satnav was a wonderful mountain road but it's a long and tiring way round), we arrived to a homely cottage with a coal-effect gas fire. Bed was huge. All the amenities you would need EXCEPT decent wifi.

Great location and excellent qualityPosted May 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Russell Cottages. The location of the cottages was perfect, the cottage finishings were great, and the facilities were excellent. The only issue we had was that the particular cottage we stayed in had a sloping floor (the construction was not level). This resulted in doors not shutting correctly and my sons toys all rolling to one point of the cottage.
