Pros: Location, quiet area
Cons: Cleanliness and upkeep.
Location: Good.
Booked a King non smoking. Entered a standard with two beds. Brought issue up to staff, who were very nice and attentive, and put us in a king room. The room had a couple issues that they fixed right away. Good location. More quiet than being right on Atlantic so that's good. Breakfast was good, not enough room for people to eat but is a common problem at most hotels. In general a nice enough looking place but could use a bit more attention to detail. Not all that clean. Room didn't give you that clean smell/feeling

Pros: Excellent staff. Very nice furnishings in the room. The kitchenette is a real plus.
We would definitely stay there again. It was very comfortable. It is close to attractions. Convenient to restaurants.

Pros: The rest was fine.
Cons: The points highlighted above especially the noise of the beds/mattresses
Location: This is fine. We don't use locations nearby. We go to our daughter and her family about 15 min. from there.
I must say that our latest stay at the Best Western in Mayport, Jacksonville was not a pleasant one. 1- They would not accept my Rewards Card for the 4 nights we were there because I reserved through Google and Expedia came up. Nowhere on the card it said the reward is only for direct reservation with Best Western, 2- Our room was not cleaned for 2 days. When we complained, the desk clerk cleaned it partly during the evening. 3- The last night we spent at the motel, when we came back at night, the door had not been completely closed and therefore was not locked. 4- The USA Today that used to be there is no longer there. 5- The beds, (mattresses) creaked very loudly. One especially, waking me up. My card # is 600663 7 34259646 7

Good for stay for househunting.

We checked in tired from a day of house hunting. The staff was welcoming and informative. The room was comfortable and quiet. Nothing outstanding, but a clean, comfortable night's stay. Breakfast was fresh and more than adequate.

Great location near a lot of activities. Breakfast was typical for a "hot breakfast". Pillows were comfy and room was in good shape.

at first I was disappointed in our room. I reserved a king size bed and we were given a room with 2 queens. we were able to switch rooms that same afternoon and I was pleased. the staff was pleasant and I would stay there again

I came to visit my husband on base for a few days as we have yet to relocate. The hotel was very clean, the staff were fantastic. The only concern we had was that the plumbing was sometimes a little touchy and you had to flush a few times. Will definitely come here again!

Good enough for a short stay

It was fine for one night. Convenient location. The room to though smelled as if someone poured a bottle of sanatizing solution all over. Bed was comfy. Sheets clean. Pet peeve: there was a very un clear description about pets allowed/ not allowed!!!! The hotel.com site allows pets, the lobby sign does not and threatens with a fine up to $200. The Best Western website says pets welcome. Needless to say- very grey area!!!!!!

Thank you for the review of your stay and for being candid comments. We just recently became pet-friendly on a trial basis, and it is still under the trial consideration period. We did set aside and designate specific rooms that are for our pet friendly guests, so once a decision is reached the signage we have here in the lobby will be changed or we'll simply remove our pet friendly designation from the website. As for the smell, we discovered several of our exhaust fan motors were down and had them replaced and this has corrected the musty smell. Not certain what the sanitizing solution could have been, but we are currently using Febreze Commercial Air Effects. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience.
