“Desk and maid service very polite”

We were very happy with the hotel in general. The "hot breakfast" was somewhat a let down. Overall the rest of the stay we have no complaints

“Nice, clean, convenient”

The Clarion is an affordable option which has a great restaurant for dinner. The complimentary breakfast the hotel offers is nice for families on a budget. My room had two double beds and I wasn't certain the sheets had been changed on one of them. My room did not have hotel information/room service menu/ etc. The cable options were limited. There was, however, a safe, iron and ironing board, coffee maker (with terrible coffee), and hair dryer. All in all, I would stay there again if business or a family/friend visit brought me to the area. If I were vacationing, I would select something a little more luxurious.

“Fine for a weekend stay.”

We needed a place to lay our heads during a weekend visit to Cleveland. The hotel served that purpose just fine. Nothing fancy, but it was a clean and (apparently) safe place to stay for two nights.

“basic hotel, VERY comfortable, VERY satisfied”

This hotel was basic -no extra bells & whistles to attract lots of business- and yet it was a very pleasant surprise. Simply updated, the decor was very nicely done and our room was updated too. The room was clean - very clean- and extremely comfortable, especially the bed. Since we were in town for a quick business/medical trip, this was perfect for us. The staff we're professional & very friendly, courteous. I don't know why this hotel has a low rating- perhaps it's because some people need to be entertained all the time & want the extra amenities but for simple people like us, it was PERFECTION

“Hot in Cleveland....in the beautiful suburb of Beachwood”

We have stayed in the Clarion Hotel in the Cleveland suburb of Beachwood several times and always enjoy our stay. The morning buffet breakfast is wonderful, and we usually do not need to stop for lunch. The Clarion Hotel is attached to the Hyde Park Restaurant, which has been voted as the #1 steak house in Ohio. We enjoy the "small plates" at the Hyde Park Restaurant during happy hour from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Beachwood is a beautiful and safe part of Cleveland and is home to the Maltz Museum and Preston's Park, an accessible playground. Beachwood is a 30 minute drive from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a 30 minute drive from the Water Park at Geauga Lake Park. Our family highly recommends the Clarion Hotel.

“Nice staff and location, horrible views”

First the bad: the check-in staff was friendly enough but they put me and my sister in a room facing the most depressing courtyard and swimming pool I have ever seen. There was a freestanding basketball hoop that had fallen over (and stayed that way the whole 3 days), a plain gray chain-link fence around the disintegrating pool, and the only green in the space was not the grass but the water in the pool. Some of the other guests were also fairly noisy all night one of the three nights, but otherwise it was fine. The carpets are a bit sticky and need to be cleaned more often. The good: the staff in the breakfast room were wonderful! They even made a waffle for me, in addition to very pleasant conversation, and made me feel cared for. The breakfast is a standard hotel breakfast, with eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, toast, juice, milk, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and oatmeal, and very satisfying. The bathroom is relatively updated, with a nice granite-like countertop, and very clean. The beds were also very clean. The location is perfect, right by the freeway entrance and restaurants in Beachwood (although Shaker Hts and Cleveland Hts are not very far away either.) Overall I recommend this hotel, but just wish it weren't so ugly on the outside.

Extremely courteous and helpful staff. As good a group of personnel as I have encountered. That's what makes a hotel great.

“Great place to lay your head down!”

I travel all over the country for a living and I am very satisfied with the overall treatment that I felt in this hotel. I set this up on Expedia and didn't pay much attention to the location and it turned out that I was on the other side of town for business. It turns out that I made a very good mistake for the service in the hotel and the restaurant was amazing. I could go on and on about the quality of customer service that I experienced at the Clarion. Best of luck to the guys and gals at this wonderful hotel.

“A good value.”

Clean room. Good access to computer and printer. Friendly staff. Very close to Chagrin Road exit on I-271. Good breakfast in pleasant breakfast room. Staff friendliness is the stand-out in an otherwise good experience, at good value.
