Great location, within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and river. Older, but very well kept.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable with decent free breakfast. Easy walk through historic town and waterfront from here so you can park the car and walk to shops and restaurants. Be sure to visit Penn Center on St Helena Island.

Always have admired hotel, especially location. We have a family home on the channel but closed it during the winter season. This is the perfect atmosphere and location! Very comfortable!

OK but not greatPosted Jan 2, 2014

Location: Good - right in the heart of the historic core of the town
This hotel is widely recommended and does has a wonderful location right in the heart of Beaufort. We stayed three nights and were satisfied, but for the locally high price not excited by what we received. The basics are there but breakfast was a little disappointing - not terrible, but not as good as, say, Hampton Inn or other chains that are in the same price space (the hotel claims to be a Best western 'Plus'). Main gripe, though, was the noise. We had a room with a connecting door to another guest's room - and we could hear almost every sound (including a bunchful of expletives). We have small kids, so I guess we gave as good as we got (and the old couple staying in the room beneath said they could hear our boys bouncing on their beds - they were very friendly about it, but I guess they might have preferred to do without.) Overall, it would have been better for everyone if there had been a little more sound insulation.
