“Convenient and Comfortable”

We were in Beaufort in order to attend our sons graduation from the Marines. We needed a hotel that was close to the base for the early morning events. The hotel was wonderful, with plenty of parking space, a convenient check-in, clean hotel rooms and all the comforts. The Wi-fi was a little weak, but we still had access to the net. The only thing we weren't sure about was if the room was smoking or non-smoking. We had requested a smoking room, but there were no ashtrays, so we had to call the front desk to make sure it was a smoking room so we wouldn't have to pay a fine for smoking in a non-smoking room. However, that was easily cleared up, and not many people will have any need to worry about such a matter. What will make a difference to most is that one couldn't tell that it was a smoking room, because there was no odor of stale cigarettes left behind in the room or the furniture. Very nice hotel, and for those that like scenery, the beautiful trees out front with the spanish moss were beautiful!

“Our first trip to South Caroline”

We were there for our son's graduation. We had a good receiving and we arrived at our rooms in a short time, very important for us because of the cold weather. We like the security door systems, the parking facilities and the breakfast service. Also the counter employee gave us clear and easy indications to arrive the Marine base. The rooms are so comfortables and clean.

i was not expecting the hotel to be as nice since all reviews were telling of the low quality of service and not being nice but at the short notice i had to get a room i didn't give myself much choice,, on boot-camp graduation weekend,but i was very pleasantly surprised, the excellence was in the service and the immaculately clean room, i could tell the rooms were a little outdated, maybe by 10 years but that was all

The hotel did seem dirty:floors,bathroom, and to top it all of at least one cockroach!!!

“Nice view, but not so clean”

The staff were all very nice & helpful, and put me in a room with a great view of the marsh. But, the room smelled really bad...so bad that I had to bring in the air freshener from my car, and the phone in the room didn't work until I had them replace it. Then, my 2nd night there, I had a roach in the bathroom and a roach in the bedroom. The room appeared clean, but the smell and the bugs were enough to make me never want to stay there again.

The Howard Johnson Express in Beaufort was about as I expected. The room was reasonably clean, but the funishings were a little tired. Don't expect the breakfast to be much more than a doughnut and a bowl of cereal. The experience was "OK", but not anything to brag about.
