Do not Pay with a Credit Card

Posted Mar 31, 2015
The hotel building it's self, is great, staff was great, room was great. Just do not paid with a credit card, they add a holding fee, after your stay at the hotel. The manager did state that the fee would be put back on my card after 3-5 business days.

Noisy and smoky!

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Asked for a non smoking room and ended up the room smelled like smoke. Every time the a/c kicked the smell of smoke was more intense and ended up leaving the a/c completely off the entire night. Will not stay here again.

Upon checking in we were told they were booked.

Posted Feb 23, 2015
The receptionist said they had no rooms available and we would need to go to another hotel up the road (more expensive). I told her I would be calling Expedia. After staying on hold for a few minutes. She "all of a sudden" had a double room available. we took it. Not sure if the problem was the hotel, the receptionist or Expedia. (However the hotel did not appear full). The parking lots were quite empty. The place was clean, Beds were comfortable.

We reserved a non smoking room with a king bed. When we arrived we were given a smoking room with a king bed. We informed the staff that we had reserved a non smoking room with a king bed. We were informed that there were no king bed non smoking rooms available. I showed them our reservation, and was informed that reservations made through Expedia were not a priority, and we could have a non smoking room with two double beds. After settling in the room at a little after midnight someone tried to enter the room with a room key. Its a good thing that we had the interior latch engaged. Soon after the office called to find out who was in the room. We discovered that they did not show us in the room. I talked with the manager in the morning and informed him what had happened. He stated that he was unaware of what had happened and it appeared that he was not concerned. Stay at this hotel at your own peril.

The room was clean and comfortable.

Posted Feb 13, 2015
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: If our room was indicative of the rest of the rooms, there definitely needs to be some maitainence done.
Location: It is close to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Although the room was clean and comfortable, there were definite maintenance issues with the room I stayed in. The deadbolt on the door was not working and appeared to have been damaged. The TV was not working either. We called and complained about the TV and the desk clerk who checked us in came and looked at it. Apparently the HDMI cable was missing and the set obviously could not get a signal without it. It was late so we didn't make a big deal about. This is an older hotel with outside entrances and stairs.

Nice hotel for the price

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Location: Lots of dining near by. The river front is also a fun place to walk to. And, the downtown and historic districts are great for exploring.
I was in town for a workshop and the La Quinta was just down the street, so the location was super convenient. The room was clean and not as noisy as one would expect from an outside facing door. There was even a fridge in the room which I didn't expect but it came in handy. All in all the hotel certainly met my expectations if not exceeded them. I would recommend for anyone looking for a frugal place to stay in Beaumont.

Not bad for the money.

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: The price.
Cons: Cleanliness.
Location: Stayed here because it was close to family.
We've stayed here three times over the last few years and this motel is in need of a makeover. The rooms are humble, rather worn, but fairly clean (although my shoes did seem to stick to the carpet). The water in the shower varied from warm enough to plenty hot. The place could really use some updates or at least a thorough cleaning (microwave, fridge, etc., needed a good sanitizing). Nice, big screen TV, but just a few channels and the guide timeline was incorrect--not a big deal if you don't have to spend a lot of time in the room. Bed was comfortable and there were no signs of bugs or chicken bones. For this low price, we could've had--and would expect--truly scuzzy accommodations, so if you stay here, just repeat to yourself: "Not bad for the money."
