“Dirty, should be 1 star hotel”

Well, I learned my lesson for using Expedia's "Unpublished rates" tool. I ended up at this America's Best Value place in Beckley, WV and regretted it the minute I walked in. The lobby smelled like smoke. The room was run-down and not very clean. The A/C unit cut on and off loudly. The bathtub filled with water during my brief shower. The hotel staff was so loud (my room was right beside the lobby). Ugh. I wouldn't even call this place a 2-star hotel.

Best night sleep in our 8 day trip! Great service, cleanliness and breakfast was great!!!

Not worth the money. There was a smell to the bulding. No one was maintaining the continental breakfast and they ran out of food,

“Americas Best Value Inn in Beckley,WV -what a joke!”

I booked a room with a queen size bed. The bed was the same size as a double bed-The staff and management was adamant that it was a "Standard Hotel Queen" Call it what you wish WE have a queen size bed at home and this bed was not a queen. Wrote to corporate about it and they claim it is a queen as well this is false! Staff was rude and condescending- will never stay there again! They did offer us a room with 2 double beds but who travels with a girlfriend and sleels in seperate beds? They told us if we did not like the bed we could leave! the hotels in the area were booked solid for reunions and such going on that weekend so leaving was not an option. They never tried to resolve the problem abd they still say it was a queen size bed- If you travel to Beckley,WV Do bot stay at Americas Best Value Inn they are a rip off! Oh the carpet will turn your socks black if you walk without shoes and the air conditioners rattle. The place is very dated!. After contacting corporate they say they sent and inspector to check it out and agreed that it was a queen size bed-of course they would! Then after a second letter to corporate they wrote back and said that this property was privately owned and that the owner sets the standard for his place. We were very displeased with this place and will never ever stay there again- Book at your own risk! If you need a place in Beckley try the Park Inn or Counrty Suites and Inns

“Inexpensive secret in Beckley”

The hotel beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The rooms were old but nicely maintained. There is an Omlette shop, Japanese Steak house and Dairy Queen within walking distance. It is a little tricky exiting the hotel onto Harper Road. Lots of Traffic.

“I guess you get what you pay for!”

The people were frendily and room was inexpensive is all that I can say is good about this hotel. We stayed in room 46 and it was very dirty. The chairs were stained and the floors were dirty. It looked like something had been spilled all over the floor. My white socks were filthy form just going to the bathroom at night. I guess you get what you pay for!

“Good Place to stay on the way”

It is a small hotel, behind the Dairy Queen. But the room was clean, breakfast was good and the cost was right. It is a good place to spend the night on the way to somewhere.

“Beckley WV”

Good hotel with minimal extras. If you are a traveller that gets out of your hotel room a lot and doesn't need much in extras at your hotel, this is a great hotel! Clean rooms, good rate,... wifi did not work. Kept dropping signal and would time out b/c it was so slow. We went out a lot so the hotel was exactly what we needed. Good basic breakfast. Hot tub is nice, although located in middle of parking lot. Rooms with two beds have more room to move around in than the rooms with one bed. Even travelling as one person, I would book the double bed rooms.

“Frequent Stay-er”

This hotel is great if you want a cheap price and aren't planning on staying in the hotel much. We like to go places and only stay in the hotel to wind down at night or go to sleep. For this, it is great! The breakfast in the morning is good too.
