our one night stayPosted Apr 25, 2015
our overnight stay at the Harvey Morris house was very nice. The owner (Bernie) quickly greeted us as we pulled in the driveway....gave us a quick tour of his home, showed us to our room upstairs.... we had the Grand Suite. He then told us we could check out all the other rooms... the 3rd floor loft would be perfect for a large group. Bernie gave us a paper listing the nearby restaurants. We walked to the one just a black down the road.... the pizzeria. it was excellent. We had pizza with grapes on it.... YUM.... and we had an order of wings.... YUM~~! There was no TV in our room.... that was the only thing I missed. There is a TV in the large common / livingroom area... we didn't use it. We have a king sized bed at home, so the queen was a bit tight. (but no fault of the owner!).... just our preference. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. (actually the entire home is beautifully decorated & clean). Breakfast in the morning was delicious~~~! There was one other couple that stayed over, an the 4 of us chatted over breakfast as Bernie served us. We left shortly after breakfast to do the 8 mile loop drive under the New Gorge Bridge. It was a great drive. Bernie gives free CD's away to use as you drive the loop. It was a good stay. Thanks, Bernie!

We chose the B&B based on it's close proximity to restaurants and hiking. In 24 hours we found 7 waterfalls with the help of the local map and a cd driving tour that the innkeeper gave us. The restaurants were amazing upscale foodie type places. The service at the B&B was perfect. Bernie seemed to treat every guest like family. Breakfast was great! The room was as beautiful as a museum. This house is a national treasure.

We had a magical stay at the Morris Harvey House! The house was decorated for the holidays and our room was both spacious and cozy. Bernie was super welcoming and we really enjoyed our breakfast!

Great accommodations, perfect location. Delicious breakfast, and our host Bernie was great. Personal (local) recommendations, such as the yummy Pies and Pints and the New River Gorge drive. Would happily recommend to all!

Fantastic stay at the Morris Harvey House!Posted Oct 31, 2014
First of all, my name is Lou Cinda. My daughter and I met in Fayetteville for a two day visit. Had never been to the area and never stayed at Morris Harvey House. Bernie was just the BEST! Great breakfast! Great suggestions regarding restaurants and things to do in the area. Would highly recommend Pies & Pints Restaurant. Great food and service. Also recommend taking the Fayette Station Road Tour to the bottom of the New River Gorge. It is fascinating!

That was our first bed and breakfast stay. It was nice to meet and enjoy the company of others while there. We did have time just for us, too. Bernie was an excellent host!

Absolutely beautiful house and excellent servicePosted Aug 3, 2014
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful B&B immensely. It was a dream come true to experience such a lovely old house, the style of which we have seen in many movies over time. Bernie, the host, was extremely helpful and kind. He arranged for us to visit a wonderful place and every morning he cooked a delicious breakfast. We found the town of Fayetteville very lovely as well. Lots of turists in the area but still the place holds a feel of a true town. The New River Gorge bridge is very close by as is Hawks Nest state park from where you can take a lovely and very scenic boat ride. We highly recommend this place to both culture and nature lovers and we hope to be able to come back again.
