Average, shower before u arrive!

Posted Aug 13, 2013
Pros: The history if it and the colour of the bar decor :-)
Cons: Shower was awful
Location: Only in area for the zoo....
This could be a really nice hotel. it just seems to lack something. The shower was dreadful in room 216. Barely dribbled out. ok for 1 night but no longer or for a special occassion.

Food poisoning spoilt our stay

Posted Apr 14, 2012
Pros: The room (executive double) was well furnished, very comfortable. The bar and restaurant were also very welcoming and the hotel has some old charm too
Cons: Food poisoning spoilt our stay, otherwise almost perfect
Location: Close to town centre which has plenty of restaurants and surrounded by pleasant countryside, but off the main road so the room wasn't at all noisy. VG
We stayed for Easter weekend (Sat-Mon). Everything was great except both my wife and I got food poisoning the first morning, we suspect from the breakfast sausages as I was repeating them the whole day until they finally made a re-appearance early evening. The room, staff and hotel were excellent otherwise but in view of what happened we'd probably not choose to go back.
