"Hotel to stay at the north part of Beijing"
I've stayed in this hotel three times. If you are looking for a hotel at the north part of Beijing, I strongly recommend this hotel. They gave me a free room upgrade. My room is clean and quiet. Excellent location. Excellent service. Have some great restaurants close by. There is a famous seafood buffet right in the second floor. Easy access to airport freeway. Will stay here again next time.

"An incredible stay! Most staff speak English!"
This was probably one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Just walking through the doors, you could tell this was not a basic hotel. While checking in, the manager offered us some hot lemonade. (It's China - all drinks are served hot.) The room was obviously geared toward businessmen with the desk and office chair, but very nice nonetheless. We were excited to find the bed to be soft - something not very typical in China! We signed up for Marriott Rewards on the spot to get free access to the Internet in our room (wifi and wired). Remember that this is China, so some sites are blocked - they are very upfront about this as well when you login. Keep in mind the bathroom has windows by the king sized bed - very Chinese - and might be uncomfortable for some Westerners, especially families. The fitness floor has a gym, locker room with showers and saunas, and a heated indoor pool area with a 20 foot hot tub. Being from the US, I'm use to just walking into the pool area and jumping right in. It took us a moment to realize that I needed to talk to the people in the Fitness Floor Lobby to get a locker key, towel, and small bottle of water. Pool entrance is through the locker rooms. Make sure to avoid the in-room snack bar! WAY over priced, but rather expected. Starbucks is about a 15 minute walk to the east, and Pizza Hut & Coldstone Ice Cream is about a 20 minute walk up a block to the North as of Summer 2013. If you can get a good deal, it's WELL worth the stay.

"Quiet hotel away from the crowds"
The hotel is nice. It sits by itself, in front of a canal in a wooded area. Not much surrounds the hotel. But cab drivers don't want to go there. One driver told me the location was confusing. I had to pay a cabbie some extra incentive to take me there. You should probably call the hotel from the taxi to obtain directions for the driver. I reserved a superior room, which was big and clean. Breakfast was good. For the best price, you should book the breakfast on-line. During my stay, the pollution index in Beijing zoomed up into the dangerous level. Thus, I didn't go outside the hotel, except in the early morning. But in back of Traders is a canal and plenty of trees. It's quite nice and peaceful there.

"Top Notch Hotel in Convenient Location for Busines"
Hotel has always been nice but recent renovations only improving things. Room was first class. Staff professional and friendly. Location convenient for business although farther away from tourist attractions. Very good for meeting business customers. One nit pick -- ventilation in the 2nd floor coffee lounge not great and a lot of smokers there.

"A piece of Beijing history"
I've been to Beijing on business several times, and have never liked the bland business hotels on wide, bleak roads that I previously stayed in. This hotel was the opposite -- lots of history (250 years!) and lots of character, but still adequately comfortable. It was also in an older part of town built on a human scale -- the morning walk along the hutong (alley) out to the main road to catch a cab was a highlight of my day. The staff are very friendly, with solid English skills, and breakfast was respectable as well.

"The best hotel in town"
I spent in St Regis 9 nights this time, with a day break for travel in China. My suite has some unpleasant smell and firstly butler tried to use air purifying unit to get rid of it. After failure of this effort the hotel automatically changed my suite for another one, even bigger. All belongings were neatly put in exact order in the new suite. This level of service is very rare nowadays!

"Third stay, still happy"
This is my third stay in this hotel. That probably tells you something. It's an "international" hotel, the staff generally speak good English, and those that don't understand they might need to grab help from those that do. If you want it, they have western style food in house (at western prices, naturally), but I prefer to eat local for 1/4 of the price.
