“Love this Hotel!”

Didn't know anything about Beijing till I landed in Beijing... Turned out that this hotel is so close to everywhere!! Wangfujing shopping district is just about 5 mins walk, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Beihai Park, Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, Qianmen street shopping district, Beijing Railway museum, Quanjude Peking Duck Restaurant, you name it! Of course there are other cheaper hotels.... but for what you paid... this is the best deal!!

“Capital Hotel in November--Great service”

The hotel was really great. I can only complain of two things: that the Spa was not open (one of the reasons I chose the hotel). They did not offer massage services. Also, the hotel restaurant on the bottom floor was really expensive and not very delicious at all. Eat somewhere else. BUT!!!!!!!!!!! However, as for other service, the bellhops, assistant managers, etc., they were all great. They helped with maps, directions, hailing taxis, telling taxis where to take us, etc. They were great people. The rooms had free razors toothbrushes etc. Nice freebies for anything you might forget. Every Chinese person who asked us where we were staying said that this hotel is probably the most central to all of the attractions. I couldn't agree more. It's perfect. Very close to everything. Be careful taking pedicabs! Many of them will try to rip you off. They tell you one price, and later pretend not to understand English well enough and show you an outrageous price on paper. Taxi's are insanely cheap in Beijing anyhow.

“Hightlight”

The Capital Hotel was a very good experience while in Beijing. We had the family suite. It was a very nice size and the service was outstanding. This great location was very central to the key sights. A highlight of my 10 days in China.

“Good tourist hotel.”

This was an excellent hotel for our purpose. Sightseeing in Beijing. Reasonably priced - as we are out all day overpriced services were not required, and it was walking distance from the Forbidden City and main shopping centre. Staff were very helpful, the room was good though the bed was very very hard. I would recommend it to other tourists.

“Good quality, good value”

The hotel was high quality and better value for my dollar than expected. I wasn't sure whether to expect Western hotel quality, but that's what it was. Good location, walking distance to Tianneman Square. It was midway between two subway stops (I would have preferred it closer to one or the other). Breakfast buffet was way too expensive, but nice tea/coffee in room.

“Excellent Experience”

I arrived at the Capital Hotel about 10:00 am and did not expect to be able to check in at that time. I went to the front desk and was told that they had upgraded me to a suite, but that it was not ready. They went ahead and gave me a key to the room and allowed me to drop off my luggage so that I could do some sight seeing while the room was being cleaned. The room was large and comfortable and was one of the nicer hotels I have been to in recent years. Very convenient location for local sight seeing.

“Impressed”

Great location. Walking distance to most of attractions. Good hotel restaurants but we wanted to try local food. Wonderful. Have a bilingual map and use taxi to get around. Metro is easy to use too, and fun. People are extremely friendly. Be aware that prices are almost the same as in USA - if you are buying quality products be prepared to pay more. Astonishing experience - the future is definitely here!

“Convenient well appointed hotel”

We were pleased overall by the hotel standards. The staff on Reception desk were courteous and efficient. My only criticism is that they were not very forthcoming with maps or site seeing advice as their English is only adequate. The room we had was large, quiet and luxurious. Complimentary toiletries were regularly replaced. I would recommend the hotel as it was in a convenient location for access to the main tourist attractions.

“Absolutely Fantastic”

When i booked i realised the hotel was a 3 and a 1/2 star hotel. Arriving and experiencing the hotel i can classify it as a 5 star. The staff where everywhere and very very helpful. Some spoke English and would write me instructions for taxi's in Chinese. It had 3-4 restaurants, a bowling alley and the rooms were cleaned twice daily. I cannot recommend it highly enough and would definately stay there again without a doubt. It is 6 minutes walk to Tianamen square, 15 minutes to the temple of heaven, and 10 minutes to Wanfujing Street (shopping street). A taxi to most of these places is 100 yuan (1.5 dollars). A taxi to the other side of Beijing is about 3-4 dollars and that is driving a long way. It has little supermarket across the road open 24 hours a day, and if your brave has some street food next to that which is a bit spicy but great and ever so cheap. It also has a lovely bakery to the left past the traffic lights, just pass the massage parlour which again is a third of the price from the hotels. The only downside of the hotel is that the beds are quite hard, but nothing a few massages won't cure. Apart from that the hotel was fantastic and the experience was and will always be memorable. Value for mony this is the place to be in Beijing.
