A very comfortable, quiet spot in busy Beijing

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Very kind, very helpful, very knowledgeable staff. Competent in English. They provide sound advice on sites to visit and tour providers. Breakfast
Location: The hotel is close to several subway lines but it is even reasonable to walk to Forbidden City. All sights of Beijing are within reasonable reach.
We stayed here for our vacation time prior to a conference. We wanted an alternative to the big remotely located conference hotel and to experience a part of Beijing which is less visible today than it was before the modern period. Courtyard 7 is perfect for that as one is staying in a very comfortable and quite courtyard setting within the very busy hutongs of old Beijing.

Our room was a sanctuary

We will stay here again. Great staff, hip hutong, huge bathroom, pleasing aesthetics, good breakfast. All amenities are here. Try to get parents quarters. This is a 400 year old renovated family home. Loved it!!

Beatiful location, comfortable hotel

Cons: Bathroom could have been a tiny bit cleaner. Nothing bad though.
Beautiful buildings, really good location. Pleasure to come back to after a day out. Breakfasts not bad either!

very friendly staff, very clean, original 18th-century-China. But it comes at a price.

Probably the best boutique hotel in Beijing !

Posted May 2, 2014
Located in a small hutong (alley) in the touristic and central Dongcheng neighboorhood, this boutique hotel is charming and strongly recommended. Housed in a beautiful and traditional building, our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable (although on the small side as we had a standard room) with a modern ensuite bathroom and a big shower stall (hot water all the time). The staff was very welcoming and helpful and spoke good english. There was plenty of choice in the buffet breakfast, including omelettes made on the spot. Free bikes with baskets and padlocks were a nice attention (there was a lot of them available). The Wi-Fi was not very fast but that's only a minor detail. The hotel is just off Nanluoguxiang pedestrian alley and close to the Bell and Drum Towers and the lakes (about a 15-minute-walk). For an excellent dinner (chinese cuisine), head to Dali Courtyard (about a 15-minute-walk).

Traditional feel with modern amenities

Posted Apr 24, 2014
The staff was more than helpful. The rooms were updated and very comfortable, and the hotel had a very traditional feel. I would go back in a heartbeat, it was fantastic! Breakfast was a huge variety of food including omelet bar. I would suggest getig the hotel to arrange your pickup at the airport to ensure you're not being ripped off by the can drivers at the airport who may claim your luggage won't fit in their car.
