Very comfortable, though scruffy neighbourhood

Posted Nov 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Crowne Plaza is very central and close to the subway. The area is very Russian and a bit seedy, though the hotel is located on top of a shopping complex, so on those really polluted days (and there are many) no need to go outside.

Fifteen minute taxi ride to major attractions

Posted Sep 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
The stay was very nice and the staff courteous. We had no major issues, except we thought that wi-fi should have been provided for in the room. However, it is not a major surprise that in most "upscale" hotels, they will charge for stuff that "moderately" priced hotels provide for no cost. There was also no tea/coffee in the room, not that we would have used it or looked for it. We had breakfast at the hotel everyday and it was great. Everything that we wanted, we were able to get. We had one dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was so-so only. All in all, great stay at the Crowne U-Town.

Pretty good for business

Posted Aug 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was conveniently across the street from the office I was working at, but definitely other reasons to stay there. It's location - practically inside the U Town Mall is super convenient. Easy to grab breakfast in the morning from Starbucks in the mall, pick up snacks like fruit and yogurt from the supermarket at night, or get really tasty lunch or dinner from any of the dozens of high quality restaurants in the mall. There are lots of different dining options in the mall and at this made for a convenient, tasty, but also varied meals. The hotel itself is pretty good. Biggest issue is that the internet connection is poor & they charge extra for it. Quite annoying. The gym is okay (long opening hours & towels & water are provided). Not too many cardio machines (5) so get there early if you like to work out. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, house keeping did a good job. Also, hotel is about a 7 min walk from the subway station that serves lines 2 and 6.
