Quiet and nice neighborhood with a clean hotel room. There are lots of places to eat around the hotel but the nearest subway station is about a 15 minute walk.

Almost Messed My Flight

Posted Jan 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel staff had no English whatsoever, which almost made me miss my flight. I asked them to give me a wake up call at 0600 hrs which they miss. Luckily I had my cell phone alarm. Because of that I miss my public transport to airport leaving me only with expensive taxi option. I ask them to keep a taxi ready at 0715 which they misinterpret as 0750. I am at the check out counter and there is no taxi at 0715. They order one, which got there at 0745. God bless the cab driver who was fast enough. Otherwise I was almost sure that I will be missing my flight. on the upside, the location and the room were very comfortable.

Affordable accomodation

Posted Jan 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
The room is good value and the bathrooms are well maintained. The internet works well, and the staff is mostly helpful. The area has a McDonalds, KFC, supermarket and delicious street meat place all across the street. I do not have any criticism of the overall experience personally, however, for someone who may not speak Mandarin, the location is difficult to convey to taxi drivers. I am a Mandarin speaker so I did not find this an obstacle, but if you are a tourist then it might be a headache trying to get back to the hotel each night.

Cheap but authentic location

Posted Nov 13, 2013
Pros: Location, easy access to street food, close to buses. Quite affordable
Cons: Cleanliness. It wasn't horrible, more like a relatively cheap motel. No mold, or crumbs, but clearly not cleaned thoroughly either.
Location: Just about anything you can imagine. There are several restaurants that share a parking lot. A lottemart (like Carrefour or Walmart) behind.
The hotel was nice, but certainly not what you would expect in a business class hotel in the U.S. or Europe. The staff were helpful, but spoke hardly any English. I never ate at the hotel restaurant, because there is just so much local fare, so amazingly cheap around the area. Although the subway is a bit of a hike, there are a lot of buses nearby. It is pretty easy to get to Zhongguancun, Wudaokou or Downtown as you like. The one area that the hotel fell down on was cleanliness. It was apparent that they hadn't vacuumed under the beds in quite sometime. Strangely, it also seemed like there was a "two sheets of paper" limit in the room, for some reason.

Not bad but could be better

Posted May 7, 2013
Pros: Nice staff, responsive to our requests
Cons: Window was aging and difficult to open. One side was next to train and light rail tracks
Location: Great location in Beijing, Reasonable to subway station and situated in the middle of university area.
Generally positive. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood with many kinds of Chinese food right at door step. If you want a quick bite of taste from home McDonald's and KFC are only 5 minutes of walk away. Subway stations were a bit further at about 10-15 minutes of walk but it was ok. Quite a few universities in the area, making it relatively safer than others. This hotel has smoking rooms and i was assigned to one of those, and i am a non-smoker personally so it was quite annoying to me. Windows were dusty on the outside but it was Beijing. Hotel was right beside a train track so if you are not an early morning person, expect some noise as the sun rises.
