“Great place to stay in Beijing”

This is an excellent place to stay in Beijing. The rooms are clean, comfortable, relatively spacious at a very reasonable price. Breakfast is good with a large variety. It is close to the airport (PEK), about a 25 minute taxi ride with no traffic (very early in the morning) and a 45 minute ride with traffic (evening). It is located in the business district, but you can easily get to downtown to see the Forbidden City by walking to the subway station (about a 30 minute walk) or take a short taxi ride to the the subway station. Bottom line: It is a great place to stay for a even better price.

“Great hotel (but far from the city)”

The room was absolutely amazing and extremly confortable! The breakfast was buffett style and had different choices for everyone's taste.

“Modern with homestyle comfort”

It was way better than I ever bargained it for a 3-star. The price is way low for an international hotel ensuring the amenities this one has to offer, 24/7 internet acces, swimming pool, and is inside a mini mall convenient for shopping. But mostly, the hotel attendants are warm, highly accomodating, and has a good command of the english language. As Holiday Inn is equally known, a home away from home.

“Great hotel and fabulous price”

Great place to stay. Surprising clean and comfortable. Definitely better than some of the 4-5 stars places that I have stayed in China. Some may say that its not too near downtown Beijing (ie: Wanfujing Street, Forbidden Palace ETC) but it is only about 20 minutes away by taxi and cost only about 30 yuan......very cheap. I you like the subway then it is less that a mile away. The hotel itself has a large shopping mall that is accessible from its main floor....this has anything possible that you may need. Quiet area and the beds are Western and so are not as hard as the ones you find in most of the other hotels in Beijing. Everything that you need is easily accessible from or in this area.

“A short but good stay...”

My wife and I just stayed at this hotel a couple of nights ago. The hotel was fine in every way that we saw but it should be noted that we only stayed there for a total of approximately 6 hours. We were originally supposed to stay there on July 15, 2011 but due to an Air China mess up leaving Chengdu that morning, it appeared that we would not travel that day at all so I changed the hotel booking to the following day. Sunny at the hotel graciously consented to shift the booking by a day but as it turned out, Air China finally did get their Chengdu air travel mess sorted out albeit we arrived at the hotel at 4am. Even though the booking had now been shifted a day, the hotel still accepted it for which we were very grateful. The rooms are not exceptionally large but they are nicely appointed, very comfortable, clean and quiet and the internet was fast. There was a sign in the lobby that the hot water would be disrupted for maintenance late that morning and as luck would have it, due to our late arrival it occurred simultaneous to our getting up and then checking out. Hence this was a problem for us but at least we were warned. However, our circumstances were exceptional and normally this wouldn’t have been a problem. All in all, I would recommend this hotel.

“Awesome”

I am quite pleased with this hotel and I will recommend to anybody. It's my first time in China and I had to travel to other cities. This qualifies for my best stay of all. I wouldn't expect anything less from a holiday Inn. That's why I'm sticking to a known brand

“Hotel for a stop over”

Hotel is close to airport,the taxi drivers drive all over the place to make it seem longer and to justify the charge.All and all a good hotel to sleep and catch the next flight out in a day.

“Convenient for Business Travellers who also want to see the City.”

Convenient for Business Travellers who also want to see the City. Only 25 mins from PEK airport. Do not pay more than Yuan 90 ( including Toll ) for the ride, they will ask for allot more! To go downtown to visit the Imperial Palace at Tiananmen Square, take a short taxi ride the nearest subway station and then take the convenient, clean and cheap subway downtown for the experience. We took a taxi back to the hotel AFTER the rush hour, as both the subway system and the roads are jammed after work. Enjoy a relaxing Peking Duck dinner or Hotpot in Beijing, rather than sitting on one of the ring roads in traffic or worse, being shoved by uniformed platform handlers into a packed subway car ( have the video to prove it! ). Lastly, if you want to walk on the Great Wall, I recommend the section at Mutainyu, just outside Beijing. If you do it on the last day, the airport is in between the Hotel and this section of the wall. If you ask the hotel to organize a car, they will ( negotiate! ) and the driver will wait for you and keep your luggage safe in the vehicle until you're off the wall ( slide down ), then they will take you to the airport. Easy-peasy. Having lived in Asia for many years, our trip to Beijing turned out really great and the choice of hotel provided for a nice oasis.

“convenient, comfortable, broken AC”

this hotel was nice, for a one night layover. its conveniently located next to food, 711, shopping mall, etc. and the taxi driver had no problem finding it. rooms are a bit small but do the trick. the AC was not working in our room, and it was dreadfully warm. we called the front desk, who sent up maintenance. he simply said that it doesn't work very well, and just opened up the window. (which we were avoiding as it was very smoggy, smelly day). it was 20 second thing, and we just felt like they were neglecting to fix the AC. the bathroom was very nice, and the beds were comfy. if the price is right and the stay is short, do it. otherwise, i suggest hutong style hostels/hotels.
