Funky, spacious

Posted Dec 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a funky boutique hotel. The room was huge and well appointed. The staff were super friendly and helpful--left me presents most days. About a 10+ minute walk from Chaoyangmen (Line 6) subway. What I saw in the restaurant and what I had from room service were not great. Would definitely consider staying again.

Its a boutique hotel

Posted Oct 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
so don't expect lots of services that other hotels with concierege offer. But in a nice neighborhood, good breakfast, giant rooms. They really do need to do a little bit of remodeling to update the bathrooms

Very positive experience, hard to find faults. Really spacious room, nicely decorated. Had 2 kids in the room with us - plenty of space. Loved the touch of choosing our own external light colour! Loved the Loccitane bathroom products. If I had to choose a negative, the breakfast suffered from the fact that the pastries were old and chewy - 2 days in a row- obviously frozen. Coffee was very good though. The rest of the food/drinks on offer were good, so please don't think I am whiny - the hotel is a block from fresh bakeries - thats all. The hotel also suffers from the Beijing-wide affliction of terrible taxi service. Make sure you plan a lot of spare time if you need to be somewhere on time (airport etc). Would stay again - for sure!

Great Location, Fun Hotel, Interesting rooms

In a good location in Chaoyang. A 5-10 minute walk to Chaoyangmen Station, or a cheap cab ride to anywhere. Rooms are fun and well appointer. Breakfasts are good. Staff is helpful. I've stayed there 6 times already. Splurge for a great room.

Great location, special design, large room

Posted May 12, 2013
Pros: Large room, large bathroom, very big and comfortable bed.
Cons: cleanliness of room / bathrooms was ok, but could be better with a little more attention for detail.
Location: Close to shopping and nightlife, just across the street from Workers Stadium.
A hotel with character, catering to a selected group of people looking for some special design in rooms for their special nights in a comfortable environment. Good bar and restaurant. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast with choices that cater to Westerners and Asians alike.

Hotel G: Good all round rounder

Really nice hotel and staff. One small mess up due to language barriers on a taxi booking was rectified immediately by the front desk so can't complain. Room was spacious, comfrotable and a a decent number of TV channels in English was a welcome hour of chilling out. The location is really nice and quiet so your sleep will not be distrubed. Its located right next to the Worker's stadium so its a great landmark to return to if you get lost for any reason. Beijing is super safe anyways and I never once felt threatend walking around at night. DO remember to take the hotel address card with you as many taxi drives don't speak english so you'll need mandarin. Didn't try to breakfast but it was always full and a friend tells me the restaurant is really good.

This is my 3rd time at Hotel G. It is in a good location if walking to a metro station that is a good 10 minugte walk is ok with you. It is hard to findi initially especially for taxis and have a hotel number available for your driver to call for directions. The rooms are large although a bit dusty and the bathrooms need a sprucing up. The restaurant is nice and breakfast is adequate plus. I would stay here again if the price were gright

Overall it met my expectations of a hotel in Beijing. I was disappointed that the description of the location claims Sanlitun. However, this is not located in Sanlitun. It is located in the Worker's Stadium area, which is completely different. Sanlitun is a 10 minute cab ride away. At least half of my days there, we received towels that were stained (white towels are provided). I needed a sewing kit and found one in the bathroom. The wrapper was black with dirt. I called the front desk to send me another. A rude woman came to deliver me another one. When she practically threw it at me, I realized that it was also dirty and said so to her in Mandarin. She barked at me saying that it is not dirty and ripped off the plastic and threw the sewing kit at me, then stormed away. SO RUDE.

Very nice staff and helpful. Clean and comfortable. Located on narrow street and at first did not seem like a good area, but for China, normal.
