My husband and i do not speak Chinese. At least the staff spoke some English. They were very polite and helpful.

This is a cheap and clean hotel and hostal situated within 15mins walk from a subway station and main shopping streets in this part of Bejing. It's also within walking distance of the Forbiden City and Tianamen Square. I would happily use it again.

“Zade International Hostel review”

At Beijing very few people know English, so you should give full address of this Hostel in Chinese. We got a card showing detail location only after reaching the Hostel. They do not provide pickup or drop service from local nearby Airport shuttle bus station at "Xidan". Though they display it at the front desk. Food at their restaurant is reasonable but little expensive. But there are local restaurant with English menu very close to hostel and reasonably priced. There is also a departmental store nearby for provisions. On the whole this Hostel is close to Tourist attractions and reasonably priced.

“Good low price hotel/hostel in great location”

Stayed at the Jade hotel for 4 nights last week and found the hotel amazing value. The location (down a side alley in the old Hutong district 1 block from the wall of the forbidden city) was superb. The only real issue was that the buildings air-conditioning was faulty and got particularly stuffy overnight when you were trying to sleep. The true value was the staff especially John, who could find you the most amazing places for dinner- be it traditional style wood roasted peking duck or fiery charcoal powered spicy hot-pot, he would look them up on the phone and sort you out with directions and the adress in chinese characters. He also recommended Ghost street as an eating destination which became the best food experience in China. The place where Beijingers go for a night on the town, we had a feast of spicy mud-crab, pork ribs, and chilli laden chicken feet- Amazing!!

Location of the hotel very central with excellent bus connection. The staff could not be more helpful and the breakfast was adequate. We really enjoyed our stay .

“Recommended for those on a budget”

I booked a room for three people, but when we checked in we discovered our room only had a double bed. When we called down to reception to inquire about it, we were told that "it's okay, three people can fit." So we spent our two nights here squished into a double bed. The floor in the bathroom wasn't as clean as we would have liked, there were quite a few hairs. The rooms were fairly small, so a bit hard to move around with three people and their luggage. The location is good, within walking distance to Wanfujing Street with its good shopping, and the night food markets. It is also close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. There is a restaurant on site that serves a good selection of Western and Asian food for good prices. I would stay here again, just maybe not with three people.

“An OK hotel”

The location of the Hotel is excellent. The down side is that the people at the front desk are not that welcoming or service oriented. The only one was Lidia, she is awesome. The laundry room is not worth using. The washer is fine, but the dryer takes about 4 or 5 hours to dry your clothes. But as far as the hotel and the rooms, everything is fine. You can walk over to many of the downtown attractions in Beijing. There are some restaurants nearby and a convenience store as well. The Beijing Train station is not that far either. In a taxi is about 23 Yuan and about 20 mins. Just make sure you have everything written down in Chinese and have a map handy.
