“Great Place to Stay”

A newly renovated budgeted hotel with a comfortable room. Good customer service, and their staff is very helpful and cheerful.

“Great location, reasonable price”

Location is the main attraction of the hotel (just 100 mts from the south gate of the Forbidden City). The staff was friendly, but their english is limited. They helped us to book some tours. As negative aspects I would mention that is located in a commercial street (fruits mainly) and the first impression was not good enough (we get used to) and is not unsafe. The mattress is a little bit hard and the TV cable offers just one english channel.

“Great Budget Hotel”

King Parkview (Hua Yu) is a great budget hotel that I would stay at again. If anyone has looked for a hotel in China to accommodate more than 2 guests, you know that the rooms/ beds are small and the extra person surcharge is almost the cost of a room. This was not the case here. 3 of us stayed 6 nights in a Superior , and it was spacious. Beds are firm, but comfortable and can accommodate 2 adults. Heat is centrally controlled, but the temperature was always comfortable. The bathroom shows some wear as the water from the shower leaks out to the floor. Safe- requires credit card, no newspapers, sofa bed, or doorman. Had to request a third towel several times and other in-room amenities were only refilled for two guests. Complimentary in-room internet and hot water kettle were convenient. The staff is nice and will make attempts to assist, although; they may not understand completely. They will not call taxis for you, claiming their phone is not working. However, they will obtain a taxi for you to go to the airport. The hotel is next to JingShan Park, and Forbidden City. Wanfujing is an easy walk, but a taxi ride is just about 10 yuan. Nearest subway entrance is about a 15 minute walk. There is a 24 hour convenience store around the corner near the Red Wall Hotel. The taxi ride to/from the hotel will cost about 90 yuan, including toll. Come armed with the name of the hotel in Chinese and a map with its location as it came in handy for our driver.

“Great Location and cheap!!”

We enjoyed our stay there, but we found the beds to be pretty hard! Also the breakfast (not complimentary) wasn't that great. They had a hard time keeping everything stocked up and so we would have to ask them for everything! Otherwise the staff at the desk had good English and were helpful setting up taxis etc.

“Very good location”

Good location, close to Forbidden city, Tianamen Square. Close to good restaurant and friendly surrounding.. Very Quiet a night and feels very safe. Recommend strongly.

“Great hotel not too conveniently located”

Good quality/price ratio, attentive staff (but poorly English spoken). Location leaves to desire better (20-30 minutes walk to metro), however, taxi is cheap and a bus stop is nearby. Good 'American' breakfast.

“Could be better...”

Location was fantastic... BUT the beds were so hard!! They said they have a washer and dryer for clothes... not only do they not have that, they don't have a laundry service at all! They said we could visit the laundromat down the street! English was generally not bad to poor. Staff were nice though. Good breakfast, good value for money. Great 'authentic' Beijing life in the street outside.

“Simple, but well located Hotel.”

As possibly read in other reviews, the hotel is nice, but not fantastic. The price and location was right for me, although wireless throughout would be nice. The internet was less than ideal from the ports, and in my room, the only working port was across the room from the desk... Good thing they're small rooms :) The staff was a little more helpful than some have suggested, but often their English is poor or non-existent. To print off a form to sign up for a tour was 3 Yuan, and there is no business centre, so don't count on that. The front desk agreed to print off my boarding pass, but they have no PDF on the computer, so that was not possible. They also looked up which Terminal I was departing from, but they were wrong...so it might be wise to make sure you know this before (couldn't print off BP, remember?). They did call a taxi for me the night before I left, and it was on time, so that was helpful, but the taxi driver from the airport didn't know where to find the hotel - he had to ask directions a couple of times. I even had the address printed off in Mandarin - but that was no help to him.

“Very disappointing”

Stayed at King Parkview with friends on a visit to Beijing during the Chinese NY in late Jan. Stay was very disappointing. Reception was quite unhelpful as only 1 or 2 staff could speak English. Over 2 days they laid dirty clothes all over the lower floor carpet. Also the wifi which "works" in the lobby and lvl 2 was barely usable - lobby wifi dropped out continuously & did not work until you stood right next to the reception desk where the staff told us on one occasion to move away. We sometimes used the internet on their computer, but only for very small amounts of time due to inconvenience. There was no wifi on level 2, or in the rooms (cable internet only). Rooms were mixed, I originally had a room on lvl 2 where the heater turned on but produced no heat. With a temp of -11 degrees celcius outside, this was unacceptable. There was also no safe or wardrobe. I asked to change to another room & was given a room on lvl 5. This was an immense improvement where the heater was not even required as the room was v warm. I was advised by another friend on lvl 4 that their room was the same. So ask to stay in a higher level. Bed was firm but not unsleepable. A light did not work but there was a safe (requires a credit card), a small wardrobe & a small ensuite bathroom. The whole room was pretty old; not exactly comfortable but not unpleasant. But the hotel was v disappointing, the staff unhelpful & the place was depressing. Only recommended if you don't want to stay at a hostel.
