Posted Jul 25, 2015

Never had a hotel room without a window before!

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Pros: Good location - right by a Subway station from which you can get all over the city. Short Subway ride to South station for long distance trains.
Cons: Would ask for a room with a window if I stayed there again.
Location: Good for Subway. About 30 minutes' walk from Tiananmen Square. In the immediate area there are quite a lot of cafes of various types.
Good experience. Arrived early after an overnight flight. Although I was too early to check in, I was able to wait for 90 minutes or so and they provided one so I could have some much needed sleep. Reception staff were very good and it was easy for me to pick up a courier package which had been sent for me. Room was odd in that it was in the centre of the building and had no window, which some people may not like. I was booked room only but there are various places to eat nearby (Starbuck's, McD's etc). Eat in the hotel restaurant each night where there was a choice of buffet or a-la-carte. I went for the latter, which was generally good although one night my order was mixed up a bit and courses came in the wrong order intitially. Efficient checkout.

The reason to stay here

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: They gave me a free upgrade.
Cons: The hotel need renovating.
Location: The subway will take you to just about anything you want to so in Beijing except the Great Wall. But be careful the level of room you order.
The economy room that I booked through Expedia did not have a window and this was not reveled on the Expedia website. The room seemed like a jail cell. Because I have stayed at this hotel over 30 times previously, the hotel gave me a free upgrade to a reasonable room. The problem was with Expedia not the hotel.

Posted Jun 3, 2015

The room.

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Pros: The location was very good. Close to the train station, subway, and easy to get around!!!
Cons: I think if my room had windows so some air could come in the room it would have been better.
Location: The hotel location was outstanding. Everything was close or near by.
The room did not have any windows, and no air could not come in the room?

Convenient location

Posted May 20, 2015
Clean rooms and convenient location. Right on subway line, mall nearby, walkable to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. If you get the cheapest rooms, the twin beds are really firm and rather uncomfortable. Further, the cheapest rooms have no windows. Best to upgrade and get a nicer room. Walls were a little thin and I could make out conversations in the room next to mine. Cheap room pricing does not include breakfast buffet. It is about 120 RMB for the buffet, but honestly, the street food is pretty good as is Mr. Lee's across the street. Do that for breakfast instead. One problem with China is that everyone smokes. Including on the supposedly non-smoking floors.

Party walls not very sound proof, cigarette smoke wafting in through bathroom vent, extremely hard mattress.
