It is all about locationPosted Nov 16, 2013
Cons: Rooms need to be refurbished
Location: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Mao's tomb, Peking Duck Restaurant, subway to Beijing South Train Station
This hotel has the perfect location in Beijing. Subway lines 2 and 5 intersect outside the hotel. Great shopping across the street. Walk to Tiananmen Square. The hotel rooms are old and small. Good restaurants in the hotel. Breakfast has good western offerings, but poor Chinese food.

Great experience !Posted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness of the room.
Cons: The attitude of the staff at the tour counter.
Location: Subway station brings you EVERYWHERE !
Great location. Just a stone throw away from the subway station. There is a bakery shop just next to the hotel. The staffs were very helpful when I asked them about where to visit. The room was spacious and clean ! However, there was a tour counter at the lobby. The staff was not very helpful and sounded rude. But overall great stay in this hotel !

OverpricedPosted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: Tour & ticketing desk and luggage store.
Cons: Staff training, especially dining room staff, who really must be efficient.
Location: Good location, subway just across the road with Forbidden City etc within walking distance.
This hotel is not as good as when we stayed 2yrs ago. Rooms were shabby, not cleaned properly. Dining room staff not very attentive, sometimes left with a pile of plates on our table. Food is not kept hot enough and was often cold, and often the crockery was either not clean or it was chipped. One receptionist laughed when we explained we were on honeymoon, all because we are not "young people" neither are we that old, this upset us as we had expected better from this hotel chain. we found this hotel to be very overpriced. Would not stay here again.

Very close to metro and main attractionsPosted Nov 3, 2013
Pros: Clean & close proximity to attractions.
Cons: Reduction of the language barrier between staff and customers
Location: Metro at the door step, forbidden city, silk market & shopping only a few stops away
I usually stay at this hotel when i come to Beijing, I however this time found it difficult to communicate with some of the staff due to language barrier. Also at check-in, when I requested a single king bed, i went to the room to only find the 2 singles. I then had to go back down stairs to change my room which was an inconvenience. I also found that some of the hotel staff had difficulty communicating due to language barrier.

Great Location!Posted Nov 1, 2013
Great location! It's easy to get to the hotel from the airport using the Airport Express and subway. At the airport, take the Airport Express to Dongshimen station. At Dongshimen station, purchase subway tickets and take line 2 to Chongwenmen station. Chongwenmen station is directly in front of the hotel. The subway can be used to conveniently get to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Bejing Railway stations, and Beijing Bus stations (for traveling to the Great Wall). I printed out directions to everywhere from Google Map, and I got detailed and accurate results. In terms of restaurants nearby, I recommend Man Fu Lou Hot Pot by Forbidden City (directions can be found on Google Map). For Beijing Duck, I recommend Pianyi Fang Roast Duck Restaurant, which is on the 3rd floor of the mall that is across the street from the hotel. (Once you reach the third floor, it may take a while to locate the restaurant. The mall is huge. There is a large duck statue in front of the restaurant. Most people working at the mall know this restaurant.) The menu is in English. Food is delicious. Pianyi Fang is much cheaper and closer than popular touristy places for foreigners. The mall across the street also has a large supermarket on the bottom floor. There is a delicious bakery across the street from the hotel as well. (There is also a bakery next door to the hotel. The bakery across the street is much better.)

Staff should improve English and efficiency.Posted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Close to Subway.
Cons: I had a proper itinerary print out. Staff did not ask their booking section to contact Expedia to verify.
When I booked my room, the price was good and money was collected by Expedia. My reservation is non-refundable and cannot be cancelled. My booking requested non-smoking room but staff said no vacancy for non-smoking room. They assigned smoking room to me. This was very clear on my itinerary. The hotel staff did not read my itinerary in detail, and kept saying hotel did not receive information from Expedia. I did not know what happened for their computer system. When I checked out, hotel staff charged me again with new price. I had no choice and time left was not enough to talk with them. So I paid again to the hotel. Many customers in front of me also complained their slow performance. I lived Novotel Peace Hotel and this one was good. After returning I made call to Expedia to let them talk to hotel.

Good LocationPosted Oct 22, 2013
Cons: Don't count on Wi-Fi. Although you are connected but there is no internet. The best times to get on is very early in the morning (before 7 am).
Location: Very good location
The hotel is in a good location, within walking distance or a short taxi ride to Tianananmen Square, Forbidden City & Temple of Heaven. The Subway stop is just outside the hotel. The hotel rooms need a little face lift especially the bathrooms.

Great LocationPosted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: Location, Location, Location. Good value for money
Cons: More staff speaking english. Maybe some badges on uniforms to show the ones that did. Buffet was very nice but they ran out of food regularly
Location: Middle of most major attractions, being above a subway, easy access to everywhere in Beijing
If you want a hotel close to major attractions then this is your hotel. Rooms are clean and tidy and it is across the road from a major shopping area on top of subway. Easy 10 minute walk to Forbidden city etc. Staff wise ok without being fantastic, very little english. Restaurant was good food both for breakfast & dinner but they struggled to keep up with buffet during busy periods.

Fantastic for location and pricePosted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: Clean, quiet, good quality linen
Great location, outside is a tube line. Close to all the big sights
