“Would Stay There Again”

The hotel was clean, with many amenities, including an iron and ironing board. The rooms were adequately decorated and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and polite. The hotel is situated within walking distanceof the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. If you walk less than two blocks in one direction you will be in a neighborhood with many hutons; but a short walk in the opposite direction are luxury stores and expensive car showrooms. The subway is minutes from the hotel. The best part was the affordable price for luxury! The next time I travel to Beijing I plan to stay at the hotel.

“Great hotel with a great central location”

We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a hotel in Beijing. It is in a central location near the Wangfujing shopping area and is very close to a metro stop. The hotel staff was very nice and went out of their way to help us if we had a problem. The concierage was helpful and helped us arrange taxis or trips. We booked an upgrade to the room which included the breakfast buffet and access to the lounge. Overall they were very helpful and friendly and we would return anytime.

Area recommendations

We would recommend a trip to the Great Wall in China, the Forbidden City (very busy on weekends), Silk Market, and the Summer Palace.

“A real gem”

“Bejing”

Found the accomadations to be adequate not what I would consider above par as one would at the Park Plaza. I also stayed across town at the Radisson and found it to be dated but much more hospitable than the Park Plaza.

“A Winner”

I looked for a bargain in good location near subway and tourist sites. This proved ideal- subway came up in the same building. 10 min walk to Wangfujing street or 15 min subway to any other downtown destination. Very nice, clean rooms with good beds. In hotel breakfasts are expensive but great alternative at Starbucks 50 ft from the hotel entrance. Concierge Jessie very helpful and saved me time and money on how to use the trains /taxi etc. Would stay here again due to convenience and good service.

Area recommendations

Stay near downtown. I have stayed out a few ring roads in nicer hotels but lost a lot of time to travel to main central city sites. Wangfujing street area just east of Forbidden City and Tiananmen is walking distance or short taxi ride to many attractions.

Getting around

Subways are easy, in English and inexpensive. Also faster than anything moving on the packed streets above. Do not fear them. Taxis, when metered, are almost free by Western standards. Many are not metered around main tourist sites especially at night but even then are less than US. You need to have all possible destinations written in Pinyon and Chinese characters by your hotel concierge prior to leaving the hotel. Taxi drivers know no English but are generally honest. Less English is spoken here than most destinations but the younger generation is eager to learn and the people of China are overwhelmingly helpful and curious about Westerners.

“As perfect as a hotel can be!”

This is without a doubt the best hotel in Beijing. I can say that because I have stayed here and at the Peninsula, Hyatt, Novotel Piece, and Hilton Wolfajang. Nothing compared to the Park Plaza. This hotel has personality! Its location is behind the Regency which is a block away from the Peninsula and Novotel Peace and two blocks away from the Wolfajang shopping street. It is 50 feet from a Starbucks and 200 meters from the subway. So the location is perfect. The rooms, restaurants, lobby everything about this hotel was perfect. I would highly recommend it to anyone going to Beijing. It will be my sole and exclusive choice for all my future trips to Beijing. I just noticed that I wrote a review for the Park Plaza in Santiago Chile and titled is “As perfect as a hotel can be.” I think I would say the same about this sister hotel in Beijing.

“Close to center - good location”

The Park Plaza is close to the Forbidden City, in a quite and nice location. Would stay there again.

Area recommendations

Explore Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City - not very exciting, but somewhat a must see. Take a tour to the Great Wall. Most tourists go to the Bandaling section, we went to the Mutianyu section and it was very impressive and beautiful - not so busy as the Bandaling. Very close to the hotel is a restaurant, Da Dong, serving one of the best Peking Duck dishes - a must try!

“Great Service, Competent and Comfortable Hotel”

Service was great. Tea was served while we were waiting to check in. All attendants were very polite and helpful. The room was quite small although it was clean and modern. The bathroom was in great condition and relatively spacious. All amenities were included, even tooth brush and slippers which could seldom be found these days. Since it is so new, the quality of this hotel is better than the Intercontinental and Wardorf Astoria in NYC. Location-wide, it is 10-min walk from Wangfujin and 2 min from the subway.

“Good Location”

The location of this hotel is great. Easily access to Wangfujing walking area. Great neighborhood.... However, this hotel is not known to many local local taxi driver and not easy to look for the main entrance... Please remember to inform them it is located next to Regent!
