“Brand new hotel, with great facilities but not too hot on the service”

A brand new hotel in the CBD of Beijing - with lots of great facilities like a pool, sauna, steam room, business centre, etc. The only down-side was the staff - lots of them but not really actively looking to help - which I would expect from a 5 star hotel. Many of them seemed to be trainees - perhaps this was why, but if you are expecting 5 star service, this probably isn't the hotel for you. But if you just want a very nice room, in a nice area, to explore this wonderful city - well recommended.

“Decent value, friendly staff”

The Radegast is a nice hotel in central Beijing. It's a decent value, not quite up to a luxury standard, but much nicer than an ordinary hotel. Staff is friendly. On a nice day it is a pleasant walk to Ritan Park which is a well kept and pretty park.

“5 star potential”

Brand new hotel, you can tell the staff are trying very very hard to strive for the hotel to be one of the most luxurous hotels in Beijing; however, there are still in training. The hotel itself is very grand, nice rooms, amazing pool but small gym (all the equipment were not yet functioning since they were brand new). It hosts five restaurants, although they could be pricey. The food was very good. The hotel also has a kareoke bar and a spa as well. Most staff can't really communicate in English that efficiently so be prepared; nonetheless, they will be very helpful once they understand you. It is located in the CBD, near the new CCTV building (the weird imbalanced cube) lot's of restaurants, malls, and a Wal-Mart nearby. The closest subway station (Goumao stop) is about 15 minutes walk.

“Excellent Boutique Quality hotel!”

The outside of this hotel wasn't that impressive but the interior was luxe! I stayed in a non smoking King bed deluxe. It was more like a suite. Beautiful interior and fairly new. Free wireless or cabled internet. Restaurants in hotel are all on the expensive side but good food and service. Room service menu was not great. Reception & bell service staff speak English! I will definitely return to this hotel. The only problem was it was too close to the Silk Street shopping center so cabs didn't want to take me back to the hotel so I just had to give them 40 RMB up front to go off the meter to take me. The ride should only cost about 15 RMB.

“Good choice to stay”

Stayed for 8 nights in mid-October. Located right in CBD, this hotel is fairly convenient to public transportation which I used exclusively. The bus stop serviced by 2 lines is nearby. There are also 3 subway stations within 15-minute walk. One station is right by Shin-Kong Place that offers a good choice of restaurants as well as economically priced food court. A bit of warning: it gets extremely tiring walking to and from the subway station and then having to make do with standing room only trains. Unless you are fit, taxi is probably the way to go. The hotel is luxuriously appointed but lacks the finishing touch of expert craftsmen, leaving it slightly short of its intended 5-star classification. However, this minor deficiency is more than made up by helpful staff that is courteous and efficient. The bed is very comfy. The only time I ate at one of the hotel restaurants, I was happy with the quality of food served. In any case, I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Beijing, especially if offered a nice discount like I was.

“Great bargain”

I stayed at the hotel for six days when they had a promotion and have made the following observations: 1. The hotel clerk asked me to deposit Y6000 at a rate of Y1000/night for incidental expense. That is an exuberant amount. Good thing I carried my American Express and let them authorized the whole amount. I still don't know what authorization mean, did they charged my account? Anyways, at the end of my stay I was given the full credit. 2. My first room was a night-mare. The pillows and bed sheets have the left-over odor from a previous visitor who must have been a profused sweat producer. I was given a brand new room the next morning and the problem disappeared. 3. The staff members treat you like a king, thereby making the stay quite comfortable. 4. I would recommend the hotel if they pay more attention to the details.

“decent for the price”

We stayed here for 2 weeks in September. The Good: * nice location, close to line 1 and line 10 subway (15 min walk) * close to restaurants and Walmart * friendly staff * lcd tv in the bath! The Bad: * The hotel just open for a few month, tiles already missing in shower * shower constant leaking to the floor * one of the room a/c never worked properly * sometimes the bath had a smell of sewage. Hotel staff took care of it after notified

“You will feel comfort and relaxed.”

Friendly environment. Well trained staff. Convenient location with traffic problem during peak hours. Food should be reconsidered to include some western and different nationalities dishes. Yes everyone would like to try the Chinese taste, but we all always miss our home taste, so I think to keep a good memories about the hotel , the home taste will help in encouraging guests to come back again and again.

“great hotel but...”

Great location (close to all the attractions any many nice restarants around), clean and cozy rooms, huge swimming pool but it's almost. Impossible to ask something from the hotel personal - theey simply do NOT speek English at all... The only person who speaks well English was a hotel manager.
